I have a D-Link 704P switch, and I have 3 computers hooked up to it. I have 2 original copies of starcraft, but only one can play on battle.net at a time. We both have our own cd keys, but whenever one signs on, the others cant. it just wont connect to b.net on which ever ralm. Please help. I have opened the b.net port on my firewall. Can I make sc use another port? or how can I fix this?

I believe Battle.net only supports one user per IP address. Either get more IPs from your ISP or forget it.

They support more if it's set up properly, which I don't know how to do.
The only porblem is you can't join games from the same IP, or if you can it's lagged to unplayability.

ok, this ends my help quest. thanks for helping me. I got both to connect, and play games. and just as the other user said, I cant play my brother or it lags. If anyone know how. please help.

i have the same problem, im running internet connection sharing. but if bnet doesnt allow the same ip address, how come it does in warcraft 3? i can connect and play using both of my computers and join the same games.

Battle.net allows EIGHT connections from one IP if they are logged on through a game... (as opposed to a telnet or "chat" connection)

I am using ICS...
In starcraft, all of my computers can be on bnet at the same time.
There is no problem with that for me... But you are using a switch, try going into the switch settings and see if it will let you set what port connections from a certain computer go out on...

Like with mine, If computer A sends out data on 6112, and externally it becomes 6113... If computer B sends out data on 6112 it becomes 6114... This allows both computers to also be in the SAME game also... But if they try to play in the same game, it becomes super laggy. And only the computer functioning as the ICS host can see the text from other people in the game.

If you need help setting up your switch, I may be able to help...
And if not, someone else here probably can :)

is that what you call port forwarding? I have a Di-704P, I dont know if it can do what you said. Anyone can help?

Actually, the DI-704P is a router with built-in firewall, not a switch. I also have this router to share my DSL at home.
I'm not sure you can do what he described with it, but if you can it probably has something to do with the packet filter menu.

this is from the Dlink Website: The DI-704P is an Ethernet Broadband Router with a built-in 4-port switch

Hey Ghan, whatever cron job its part of its not running its been the same for days. If it does not work can we remove it?
  • The Helper The Helper:
    LOL! A tweak job!

this is the fix I get from that yeah this is hard to control. disabling bots is pretty much necessary as ai and other bots would push really old threads to the top. reduce weight of view count. disable guest view tracking if you really want to push active threads to the top. a bit of tinkering for a few days with the weights and other settings should get you a decent trending widget box.
  • Ghan Ghan:
I changed the settings a bit.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Narrowed it to 7 days for the half-life and set views to 0 weight.
  • The Helper The Helper:
I dont think Trending would work for this forum it would be better to just have the last 5 posts from anywhere
  • Ghan Ghan:
Probably will have to give it some time to update.
  • Ghan Ghan:
I'm guessing it is not retroactive.

One thing I have noticed and I dont know if it is by design but like 1 out of 3 times I come to the site the Anubis screen just hangs open, if I refresh it will go away but sometimes it hangs
  • Ghan Ghan:
    I've seen that as well.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Wow - the change in the stats are major. I kind of knew it was all bots but wow, to see the effect. Why the social media sites cant do something like this I have no idea.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Probably inflates their numbers so they look better to advertisers.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Yeah google does not filter those bots. I remember when Apex was doing Google ads I saw the same IPs in there as I was seeing here - google is totally tracking all those bots as traffic and most google traffic, at least ours, was all bots
