starcraft ddhelp error, plz help.

hi, ive been playing starcraft for a long while, but when i play for about 30mins. then i restart the comp and and it does it in less time like 5 min. then it crashes to desktop and comes up with an error saying Ddhelp and says close, debug, and details.
also says something like error in module unknown. I have tried everything like getting the newest video drivers and sound, dx 8.1 and monitor. I cant find any solutions, i even asked blizzard but i did everything they said but it still wouldnt fix it...

plz help,

Ddhelp is a directdraw error--usually cause by a video driver or directx error. Try reinstalling your directx or video drivers--If you are using the direct x from the cd--try downloading it from the website instead(sometimes the cd -directx can become corrupt because of read problems from the rom). If this doesn't work try an older version of your vid drivers(Assuming you are using the latest drivers. I could possible help better if I had your system specs--vid card--cpu--OS--DirectX version--ect.
 
srry, about putting in unregestered user i changed it to FroSty
ill try getting the old driver, but i think ive done that before and it still has the same problem.

here r the specs

windows 98
AMD 1.7 athlon xp
504mb ram
Soyo Sy-K7vempro motherboard
geforce 2 mx 400 pci video card
sound blaster live! 5.1 for the sound card
and i have the latest drivers for dx and video driver.
 
Start Menu, Run, Type DxDiag and run the video tests. Are they all successful ?
 
Just as an afterthought, check your IRQs. make sure none of your pci and agp cards are sharing together.
 
My computer>Control panel>System>Device Manager

Highlite Computer>Properties>Interrupt Request(IRQ)

See if your sound card,nic or modem card, video card or any controller card are sharing any IRQ,s together. Ideally every pci or agp card should have its very own irq.(Sharing with pci steering is ok)--Video, nic-modem & sound cards are very data intense so having two or more sharing on one irq can cause conflicts and data corruption. Kinda like having a major highway with heavy traffic, but the road is only 8 foot wide.
 
well i have a built in vga video card but thats disabled and i dont think i saw it in the irq, although i didnt know what some of the stuff was... since i disabled that because it doesnt work very good i got a nvidia video card, and i saw a Standard PCI Graphics Adapter (VGA). Would the standard pci(vga) and the nvidia cause problems?
 
so would those 2 things crash? pci standard (vga), and nvidia driver? Those r the only things i could find that had to do with video drivers in the iqr.
 
I got the error to come up again and if i post it would that help any?

k, all done, any errors? i thought maybe the geforce and all those other ones sharing in number 11 might have something to do with it.

It is not good to have your ethernet card and you vido card sharing the same IRQ.

I would suggest that you disable comm2 (assuming you are not using it) and change your bios to assign IRQ 4 to your ethernet card.
 
Not knowing your bios--would not be sure--try I/O config or pci config. You can also try moving the ethernet card to a different slot.
 
i found out that i cant switch eithernet slots because theres no more room on my motherboard and it can only go there so.......but i did change the irq and so far i think it might be working, i have to play longer to make sure because it happens every so often..

    Depending on how you pour the oil the consistency can vary wildly, but that's true for most emulsions. I can only make about two quarts at a time with my robo coup, and if I have to make several in series because I forgot to order it becomes really obvious even when I do it. We have to wait and mix them all together to make sure we have the same thing.

    Hollandaise is also kind of like that, emulsions require a very steady hand to do exactly the same every time.

I serve 400-500 guests on average per day right now, if I had 100 then we could do things way better

I do think I won though, I have to keep my fucking core staff and they have to be gainfully employed
