Angelusz, I'm still having trouble opening the map, each time I try it gives me error about not having handle storage, or something like that.

Also, as far I understood Überplayer that was no actual problem, but, I may have misunderstood him.
I really don't know what's wrong there, it really should work, we can all open the map just fine. If needed, I'll resend it once I get the latest version from Überplayer or Doomhammer. I'll e-mail you anyhow.

looks like some good progress here. I haven't gone into detail yet, but it looks fine in overall! ;)
Please e-mail it back to me, I haven't caught Überplayer online yet.

Time to work on the AI soon! First step is to start playtesting now though, drop a message here and I'll e-mail you the rest of the information if you're in on the testing.

there are some issues which could yet be improved.

Some of my tests failed, i.e. I could not get defeated or win, most probably because the right triggers are missing. The code is already a good deal away from the GUI mash it was converted from, but yet far from efficiently written.

EDIT: removed link.

I've gotten the file from Überplayer shortly after I posted, thanks though. Please take the link down to prevent maluse. I'll give it a thorough testing and talk the issues I find through with Überplayer so he can fix them.

Doomhammer gave me a good list how to improve my coding. And something to add also.

Unfortunately, we keep getting delays because Überplayer is having some trouble wrapping the code up. I'll send Rheias an e-mail again to see if they can work it out together. With a testable version, they can start on the AI as well. :)

Well, I'm fixing some issues for 6.0.41 right now; the endgame is nearly done, just a few small bugs to work out. Still need those playtesters though. :p

Playtesters needed

bottombar.jpg

Hello again! A lot of work has been done on my map lately. Finally, we've come to the stage where we can start testing and balancing the map! Since there's a lot of new content, we need some thorough, effective testing. I've let this be known through this thread a few times already, but never made my point entirely clear. Hence, this post. If any one of you wants to help out, here's what I need:

Playesters who:
- Can speak and understand English.
- Have time to play my map several times for at least an hour.
- Have a keen eye to spot bugs/mistakes.
- Are dedicated and trustworthy.
- Preferably know the map already.

Click the banner at the top of the post if you're interested, it will take you to my website, from which you can navigate to the site's forum to sign up! If any questions arise, feel free to ask them either here, or on my site's forum.

Each playtester will get credit in the map and on the website, as well as +rep on this forum. Thanks in advance!

@tom_mai78101 I must be blind. If I go on my profile I don't see any area to edit the signature; If I go to account details (settings) I don't see any signature area either.

You can get there if you click the bell icon (alerts) and choose preferences from the bottom, signature will be in the menu on the left there https://www.thehelper.net/account/preferences

Crazy how much 3d printing has come in the last few years. Sad that it's not as easily modifiable though
  • Varine Varine:
I bought an Ender 3 during the pandemic and tinkered with it all the time. Just bought a Sovol, not as easy. I'm trying to make it use a different nozzle because I have a fuck ton of Volcanos, and they use what is basically a modified volcano that is just a smidge longer, and almost every part on this thing needs to be redone to make it work
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I have a 3d printer for that, I guess. But it's ridiculous. The regular volcanos are 21mm, these Sovol versions are about 23.5mm
  • Varine Varine:
So, 2.5mm longer. But the thing that measures the bed is about 1.5mm above the nozzle, so if I swap it with a volcano then I'm 1mm behind it. So cool, new bracket to swap that, but THEN the fan shroud to direct air at the part is ALSO going to be .5mm to low, and so I need to redo that, but by doing that it is a little bit off where it should be blowing and it's throwing it at the heating block instead of the part, and fuck man
  • Varine Varine:
I didn't realize they designed this entire thing to NOT be modded. I would have just got a fucking Bambu if I knew that, the whole point was I could fuck with this. And no one else makes shit for Sovol so I have to go through them, and they have... interesting pricing models. So I have a new extruder altogether that I'm taking apart and going to just design a whole new one to use my nozzles. Dumb design.
  • Varine Varine:
Can't just buy a new heatblock, you need to get a whole hotend - so block, heater cartridge, thermistor, heatbreak, and nozzle. And they put this fucking paste in there so I can't take the thermistor or cartridge out with any ease, that's 30 dollars. Or you can get the whole extrudor with the direct driver AND that heatblock for like 50, but you still can't get any of it to come apart
  • Varine Varine:
Partsbuilt has individual parts I found but they're expensive. I think I can get bits swapped around and make this work with generic shit though

I think we need to add something to the bottom of the front page that shows the Headline News forum that has a link to go to the News Forum Index so people can see there is more news. Do you guys see what I am saying, lets say you read all the articles on the front page and you get to the end and it just ends, no kind of link for MOAR!
