Yes.

I just don't get the point of that kind of agreement ("you may not make an IDE that competes with mine"), because at any time you could add a feature to yours and make mine a breach of the agreement.

It's the general idea. You just can't make an IDE that includes WC3/SC2 stuff, no matter what it is.

Hey guys, just wanted to give you a little update on the progress of the next release.

I'm currently rewriting the TextEditor from scratch - the methods are the same, but the code is much more structured, documentated and efficient. I'm about 60% done with it. I will focus on it the next week so I can release the next version for your satisfactions.

New features include:
- faster XML sheet parsing;
- you can now create custom margins by inheriting from BaseMargin and call the TextEditor's AddMargin method;
- you are now able to override drawing methods -- this means that you can, for example, override the selection drawing method and draw a gradient rounded rectangle instead;
- drawing events are now implemented -- you can now add actions when the TextEditor eg. has finished drawing the rows.
- several bug fixes.

There will probably be more features implemented, but they are not in it yet. So be patient :)

Other changes:
- several efficiency increases.
- a lot of new features in Storm.Plugins.dll, such as loading single plugins.
- updated documentation.

I think I'll have the next update in this upcoming week, stay tuned. :)

"the world's best IDE framework for .net", is kinda a strange claim to make and I suggest you change that.

Why? Cause it's a matter of opinion. To me, the "worlds best" IDE should be at least:

  • Cross-Platform
  • Highly customizable syntax highlighter
  • Scope module for functions and variables depending on where the cursor is (not just a simple function list)
  • Configurable compiler list for multi-languages
  • Fast in execution
This list would just be the beginning of an endless amounts of requirements.

Yes, you claim it's the best "IDE framework for .net" but no-one has the right to claim what is and what is not from their opinion.

So all software companies should stop telling people that they are the best because it's a matter of opinion? No. It's advertising.

Good software companies win awards, and claim NOTHING. They just give you reason why you should use their software and tell you what it's capable off, instead of printing out opinions.
Winning awards is other people telling you your software is good, your opinion about your own software I couldn't care less about.

For example:
http://www.unrealtechnology.com/
http://www.crytek.com/technology/cryengine-3/specifications/

Where in those links can you see their own opinion about the software? Where do they claim this is "The worlds best" engine?

If you call this advertising, I call you a joke. And it just gives me more and more reason not even to look at this software. Advertising on The Helper, don't make me laugh harder than I already do.

So I should just give quotes instead of advertising? Fine, here are some:

"Really impressive man, I love it. Keep up the good work!" - formlesstreee4
"There is some really cool stuff you can do with this.

Major props man." - Tru_Power22
"I'll start to be a fan of your work" - tim_mcgwyn
"This is really amesome and amazing work!

Looks like you're on the way to becoming the next ScottGu* :)" - Member 1098697

Is that enough? I have plenty more.

Now now, don't get to flaming. Furthermore, I don't really care much if you don't want to look at this, there are quite a lot of other people who do (approx. 20000+)

I'm sorry the server upgrade is taking so long; I had been working on my new site using wordpress, and when I uploaded the site I figured out the website had php but not mysql; I am therefore changing to godaddy, and it takes some time.
You can download the Storm.TextEditor from the Moonlite source code (moonlite.codeplex.com), and build it using VS. It is the latest version with some updates.

  • The Helper The Helper:
The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
