how does a substring work:/

it is kinda confusing

and some trigger samples could be good too

lol Darky. i thoguth that name was taken on the b.net forums. now every one here is gonna be confused lol. but a substring means that part of the chat message. such as if i say -deposit 50 then the 50 would be the substring if u wanted an interger to be it. that is an example of what is in that map he posted.

(substring) 5,6 what does the 5,6 mean?

SD_Ryoko, you must know the answer to this question. I also seek the answer. The example given in the world editor was "(grunts stink) 2,4". What do those numbers mean?

Substring is basicaly part of a string. When you make an event player types bla bla bla... you can choose that the thing he needs to write to activate the trigger must be "an exact match" or a substring...
Examples:
Player - Player 1 (Red) types a chat message containing zozoR as An exact match
Only typing "zozoR" will activate ur trigger
Player - Player 1 (Red) types a chat message containing zozoR as A substring
Typing "zozoR the gossu" or "zozoR" will also activate it

(substring) 5,6 means, that you take the characters from 5 to 6 from your string, making a new string ... and do something with it.
Example:
Set stringA = zozor
Set stringB = (Substring(stringA, 2, 4))
Then stringB would be "ozo"
