i dont know wether guys have heard about this or not, but i recently heard this story that my dad told me that was pretty messed up.

a man walks in a K-Mart and buys the most expensive flat-screen T.V. there is. a few hours later, he returns and puts the very same T.V. in his cart. then he somehow sneaks by the registers and then he returns the tv with his old reciept. he does this for a few years and grows confidense...then one day he tried to do it and later discovered that he had the wrong tv. of course, he got busted and spent a few years in prison...

well that was it. what a moron.

i would actually consider him very smart...just got too greedy and shouldve stopped

yeah, if that were me,i would check every single tv i returned.

And I wouldn't steal at all. Only bloodsucking #%@#%ers steal what they don't actually need. If you need something you can't get legally, you're better off asking charity than stealing.

Huh? I'm missing something here--I can't understand what you just said, sqrage.

it seems it would be easier to just sell the second tv in the classifieds or the pawn shop LOL

if that is true, then the K-mart store in question is run by a bunch of idiots. Not only would he be picked up on their security cameras, but walking past cash registers with a large TV and nobody noticing him would imply everyone working there was wearing blindfolds or something.

Mabye they were O_o

Anyways, People are working at K-mart. K-mart is going out of buisness. People who work at K-mart let people steal their shooping carts. Seriously, it's probably not that hard to walk past a person when they're focused on another thing.... Like people could steal change under your nose while your playing WC3.....

I don't know if the employees would notice really, I was just at a Kmart and there were only 2 employees I saw the whole time, one at a cash register with a customer who insisted the shirt she was buying was priced wrong and a line of 5 people waiting and another employee processing returns at customer service. Kmart is starting to give Big Lots a good name LOLOL They both have the 'if you can find it you can have it' kind of set up going on but at least at big lots I have actually seen employees :D

Actually, if you think about it, that would be selling a stolen T.V. As it is he never had a stolen T.V. in his house for more than a night. You see K-Mart only lost money. As far as stock goes nothing would have seemed to be missing. This is mostly speculation, and, of course, K-Mart should have noticed some major discrepancies in their income/expense records.

A question: Wouldn't they like take the receipt or mark it somehow after you return an item? I mean otherwise you return something, but according to the receipt you still have it.

The Customer -> :banghead:  <- The Employees

well. he bought a tv and then took another of the same, got it past the counters and returned it with the reciept. all he did was get a free tv.

prolly how else wud he get the reciet, he stole the tvs

I mean he cuda asked 4 a reciet, c if the employes reliesed lol

I used that weak ass scam when I was a kid a bunch of times. Buy something and leave then come back with the receipt and bag and grab the same item. Try to leave and security grabs you. Show them the receipt (Cause most stores have multiple places within them that you can purchase items) and leave. Bingo free item. It is not a good idea to steal for any reason though. I had to learn this the hard way.

How often does the Trending Content box refresh?
  • The Helper The Helper:
Also, in the last template there was a seperation between sticky threads and regular threads in the forum
  • Ghan Ghan:
Not sure. It's probably part of a cron job.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Hey Ghan, whatever cron job its part of its not running its been the same for days. If it does not work can we remove it?
  • The Helper The Helper:
    LOL! A tweak job!
  • The Helper The Helper:
this is the fix I get from that yeah this is hard to control. disabling bots is pretty much necessary as ai and other bots would push really old threads to the top. reduce weight of view count. disable guest view tracking if you really want to push active threads to the top. a bit of tinkering for a few days with the weights and other settings should get you a decent trending widget box.
  • Ghan Ghan:
I changed the settings a bit.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Narrowed it to 7 days for the half-life and set views to 0 weight.
  • The Helper The Helper:
I dont think Trending would work for this forum it would be better to just have the last 5 posts from anywhere
  • Ghan Ghan:
Probably will have to give it some time to update.
  • Ghan Ghan:
I'm guessing it is not retroactive.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Next on the punch list: Update the server to Ubuntu 24.04.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Mad Lads is new I see it displays original post date
  • The Helper The Helper:

  • The Helper The Helper:
One thing I have noticed and I dont know if it is by design but like 1 out of 3 times I come to the site the Anubis screen just hangs open, if I refresh it will go away but sometimes it hangs
  • Ghan Ghan:
    I've seen that as well.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Wow - the change in the stats are major. I kind of knew it was all bots but wow, to see the effect. Why the social media sites cant do something like this I have no idea.
  • Ghan Ghan:
Probably inflates their numbers so they look better to advertisers.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Yeah google does not filter those bots. I remember when Apex was doing Google ads I saw the same IPs in there as I was seeing here - google is totally tracking all those bots as traffic and most google traffic, at least ours, was all bots
  • The Helper The Helper:
oh wow, i bet i can post x links now and do the webp pics now giggity
