ok, let me give you a bit of history on the map...
when i started on this map i knew war3 mapmaking was easier than starcraft map making...but i had no idea the GUI would be so glitchy!! anyway...i struggled alot with learning jass while making this map... finally i started wanting to improve more in making spells so i decided to try to make a dota style map. i've been working on it, and it's still in infant stages. but after all this working on this map like dota my learning has increased a lot! and now i'm going to develop this map again after much studying and learning...in a month or so i expect i'll have the map at 0.97 where it should be more easily editable. the way it is now it still uses a lot of gg variables...they must all be eradicated.
it's a lot to deal with, and none of you have to worry about that.
what i need from you guys, at least in this thread...is the following:
1)i want someone to design a better loading screen than the one i got. i'm too lazy with that.
2)but mostly...i want a lot of hosting for this map.
if you can help with hosting or my loading screen let me know.
so, what is the map like? hmm...well. here is a short description.
A Fun Chasing Game.
Demon Hunters (chasers) compete to be the top Demon Hunter.
Demons (runners) are rescuable but at risk of the runner doing the rescuing.
Demon Hunters Search out and capture Demons.
And Demons build outposts and run away.
Chasers win if they have all nine Runners captured.
Chasers lose at Time Limit, or if all die.
in further describing it i'll say it takes the best parts of every war3 tag map and kindof combines it all into one tag map. like, the variety of runners and chasers found in island defense is here...the ability to fight back real well against the enemy like in vampirism is there...there are a lot of trees like in tree tag... and you can pig farm up the map like you farm up the map in sheep tag...and you can use items too like you do in tree tag.
a huge difference though is that this map strives to be fair. it isn't at yet, 1.0 but already it is more balanced than all of the other tag maps out there by far...with the exception of a certain sheep tag game that isn't played often. and that game is way too simple to be compared with this one. that one is very good...best of all the sheep tags. but my map feels more like warcraft and less like...ping pong or pacman or some other simple game like that...
chaser A = like blademaster with blink
chaser B = like mountain king with global slow
chaser c = scouter...like potm/kotg
chaser d = scouter...perm invis with doctor ward
chaser e = combat hero
chaser f = hero with teleportation and sleep
and i kindof forget the rest...
runner a = buyback buildings, repick runner
runner b = magic immunity
runner v = lots of spells
runner z = able to heal an entire area of buildings
runner r = able to windwalk for a few seconds
runner m = able to teleport every once in a while\
runner h = a little like the trent in tree tag.
runner y = a little like the human in vampirism.
and there's a lot more. 26 in all for the runners.
some of the letters may be a bit off but forgive me, it's been a while since i played it a lot.
there is just a description of some of the guys you can pick in that map.
so it has a lot of replay value.
i'll probably add more items and make more of the runners more different in the future...
