From these two examples which one would reduce fps less than the other? Which would be with better performance or will they be the same?

- Terrain deformation through multiple thunder clap/war stomp periodically
- Terrain deformation through TerrainDeformCrater again periodically

I think the 1st might require MUI :) So, if not set to MUI, i guess the second one reduces it more. The second one is through Enviroment action, right? If set to MUI, then Thunder Clap one, where you can remove the location whenever u want, to avoid leaks. Generally they are the same :p I'm also calling the leak thing.

Ah, I'm not asking MUI-shmui, I'm asking which would reduce less fps. ^^
EDIT:
Consider the example like Epicenter from DotA (if someone has seen it...)

Well, i referred to MUI to avoid same type of spell-casting, which may lead to crash without it. Anyway, Epicenter is done through Enviroment - Terrain deform, not periodical thunder claps.

Edit: A dummy unit is actually created to Thunder-Clap the ground, but the effect is through terrain deformation (Enviroment, Triggered)

So, finally, in the end, at last, thunder claps are better than script terrain deformation when it comes to FPS?

Damn, the Thunder Clap is only for the damage, not the effect. Basically, since DotA is such a game with enormous amount of data and uses Terrain Deformation instead of massive Thunder Claps, then this is what would be the less laggy and anything else, when it comes to FPS. Triggerers know what they're doing :)

I would have said TerrainDeformCrater, rather than mass thunder claps.

I tried using both and got the same effects, no lagging or anything, but ...
Anyway, I prefer using the trigger Environment because you can easily change the values such as the depth of the crater and other fields.

Nobody has clear answer? Judging by a test, they reduce fps by the same value, thought TerrainDeform is slightly better (2-3 fps higher). I would want to ask someone to do such a test in a bigger map if possible, please...

Terrain deformation function is better, because you do less actions.
I mean, you don't set a location, spawn a dummy there, add and cast an ability.
And is lot more customizable
