Welcome to the first ever, Starcraft II Mini-Tournament for The Helper.net. While our site remains dedicated to Editing of Blizzard's many games, we hope to branch off from the usual flow of things and involve the Actual Melee Portion of the Game, more-so for the laughs and giggles then anything professional. So regardless of skill level everyone is welcome to participate ether as a Player or a Spectator. After all its just for fun.

The Tournament will focus around convenience for the players, and does not follow a strict schedule of when the games should be held, only a range of dates where the games must be played and done by. So no one should feel inclined not to join just because of a tighter schedule. If you can play, you can join.

After all if this is a success these mini-tournaments might be a common place on the forum.

tournban.png

Setup
The Tournament will consist of 16 (Possibly 8 if not enough people sign up for a realm) players in a 1v1 style of play and be made up of Four Rounds.
The Round of 16, The Round of 8, The Round 4 (Semi-Finals), and of course the Finals between the Future Champion and the Future Runner-Up. As well as, during the Finals a match to decide Third Place between the two losers of the Semi-Finals will also be held.

Each Mini-Tournament will receive its own Bracket. The bracket will show the Name (With a link to their profile), Race and Country (Optional) of each player. As well as all current and previous match ups. All of which will be updated via the same page. (So just keep it bookmarked)

Elimination
The decision on who will move on and who will be eliminated after each match-up will be determined by whoever can win the best of three games. (Meaning you must win Two of the Three to move on). All Rounds will be made in this format, except for the Finals (this does not including the Third Place Match-up); where instead of the best of three, it will become the best of five!

Prizes
While this tournament is for fun, the top players of this tournament will receive a reward for their efforts.
1ST Place - The Title of Champion and 35+ Reputation**
2ND Place - The Title of Runner-Up and 25+ Reputation**
3RD Place - 15+ Reputation**
4TH Place - A High Five**

**Along with reputation that might be given to you by others.

Realms & Regions
The decision has been made because of the lack of Cross-Regional connect on Battle.net 2.0, and because of the Interest of many people across different servers. Each Realm/Regional Server that can manage to get 16 players submitted will recieve one mini-tournament for that Realm. This way all TheHelper.net Members interested can get involved as long as their is also equal interest in their own Region. We hope to have one Mini-Tournament for each major region of Battle.net 2.0 so don't be afraid to sign up and spread the word.

tournban2.png

1) All games MUST be played on the Server that is designated as host for that specific mini-tournament.

2) All Talk inside the Games should be held in ENGLISH.

3) Players must be respectful to one another at all times within the Tournament. This means no taunting, spamming, or insulting your opponent, as well as rage quitting. We expect you guys to act like adults, so we will not be afraid to enforce this and punishment may extend to your removal from the tournament or even future tournaments.

4) Games can be played against your match up can be played whenever the most time is convenient for both of you. Matches do not have to be held all at once, and can be held at separate times or even separate days. However, the games must be played within the given time for that Round.

5) The Maps that you will be playing on for each of the games per round will be selected at random from a pool and given to both you and your match-up. YOU MUST PLAY THE MAPS CORRESPONDING TO THE CORRECT GAME IN THE MATCH UP. YOUR GAMES WILL NOT COUNT IF YOU PLAY THEM OUT OF ORDER OR PLAY DIFFERENT MAPS THEN THE ONES GIVEN.

6) Each Player beforehand will be able to pick two maps he or she would like to void from their game pool. These Voided Maps will not be selected for your match up. However, Once you submit these two choices they can NOT be changed at any time. So once again if you submit them, your stuck with them. So choose wisely.

7) Each player will also be selecting from 4 Race Selections before the tournament even starts. These four extend to Terran, Protoss, Zerg and Random. You can choose one of these selections to be your Race for the whole tournament. Players will not be allowed to change their race selection once the tournament begins or anytime after. So once again choose with care.

8) The out come of a Disconnection in a Game will be decided by the two opponents. If both players agree that the game was NOT completely one sided to the point that it was obvious who was going to win. The said game will have a rematch ether immediately or at a later date. (If conflict between the two players occurs, please contact me or post in the thread with the replay and we will review it). This regulation applies for all games, except the Finals. (See Regulation #13)

9) As well, on the Rare Occasions of a Tie (Where there are no longer any more minerals or attacking units on the field from both sides) the game will end in a rematch.

10) Rematches must be played before the next map in the match-up order can be played. All Rematches must be played on the same map as the game in conflict.

11) Replays from each game must be submitted to the thread, by ether the two players or any of the spectators involved. This is important for us to ether look back at the game to make a judgment call and also to later make into videos for others to see.

12) Spectators and Observers are allowed in all matches! However, they can not talk specifically to the two players involved in the game, nor can they give any unfair advantage to one or any of the players in the game. All Regulations apply to the Spectators and Observers involved just as if they were any other player. Any rule breaking behavior between Spectators and Observers will result in harsh consequences.

13) For the Final Match-up, all games must contain at least one approved referee from the correct realm list. These Referees will make all judgment calls on Disconnections, Ties, Behavior Problems and will report back that the results posted by the players of each final game is accurate.

14) And last but not least, do not forget in the heat of the games to enjoy yourself and have fun.

These are the maps that will be selected from the Randomized Map Pool. Players are allowed to void two of the maps below in the list from their personal map pool.

Player Sign Up Sheets must be submitted to me via Private Messaging. However you can post your submission in the thread if you want to boost activity. Players must abide to the regulations set forth in this tournament and must also be able to connect to their designated servers without complications.

Only submit if you are completely sure you are dedicated to play through the duration of this Tournament.

Only 16 Players will be accepted in Mini-Tournament #1 from each realm. For those who can not play but still would like to participate, referees (for the finals) are needed and spectators/observers are allowed in all games as long as they follow Tournament Regulations.

Referees act as both people watching the game for their own enjoyment but also as the Judgment Makers in the Final games of each Mini-Tournament. Referees will be asked to come on a certain time and date in posts below by players in the Final Match ups. We hope to have as many Referees as possibly to make this process go by fast and easy. As well, multiple Referees can join in to one game.

Referee Sign Up Sheet**
By Submitting this Sign Up Sheet as a Referee; you will abide to fair judgment if a judgment call is needed as well as perform the duties asked of you in the regulations. You will not give any unfair advantages to any player, if you are found doing so you will be banned from all future tournaments and other bad things might come of it.

Once again... please Private Message Me. It makes it easier on me to find it and keep times. Plus it is easier for me to contact you if there is a problem with your submission.

However you can post your submission in the thread if you want to boost activity. Or I welcome you to post just saying you are in as well.

Referee Submissions do not need to be Private Messaged. They can just be posted.

Are the replays downloadable and available for all SC2-owners to watch freely, without watching it via Youtube?

We will have them uploaded to the thread, so that you guys can download the original replay. However we are also going to try and have them uploaded to Youtube (possibly with Commentaries if someone wants to do it)

Sorry guys, I am a little busy today, but the realm specific stuff for American Region (Post #2) and Europe (Post #3) will be up later today. I will also be posting up an announcement for the tourney later today as well.

I am getting some good entries for the US and the EU (no entries from anywhere else though), so keep sending them in. I will have the Leader board, the list of the Entries, the brackets, and other things up for their specific realms up soon.

Also, because a lot of people have been asking. Yes, we do need someone as a commentator for the replays if you guys want them. If anyone is interested in doing so, just post below or Private message me.

I read somewhere that all copies from southeast Asia and Australia can play on the NA servers. What happened to EU copies :( And RU copies :(
