Made this just now, in Flash, was actually alot of fun :

(The original banner was used, but darkened xP)

anyways... i'm gonna try making one myself. it'll be warcraft themed.

hehe, i was so excited to make one so i made a quick work.

i searched for a render, opened my photoshop, segmented/redered the banner into several parts, edited and put everything together to make one.

- the helper is still somewhat recognizable

hehe just a checklist for mine...

- it keeps the original background, and optionally also that gray bar thingy

check! i made sure that the gradient of the gray bar turns exactly to the lower color of the site.

- it is exactly and precisely pixel-perfectly the same size as the original

i copied the header directly from the site.

- it's less than 50K

the jpeg is 80+ but the gif is 30+

- the helper is still somewhat recognizable

- it does not want me to have a look at the food from last week
