I don't really know what is happening with the performance in D2, but what I really know is that the last few days I had read so much stuff that my eyes are red from the pain!

This most stupid problem I have with the D2 is each time I open the map or mini-map in some areas the game starts to cut! All that in D3D!!!

I have go into BIOS upgrades, tweaking, tutorials, guides&walkthroughs, new drivers, programs that boost memory, that boost h.d. that boost bios, cpu, VGA card, EVERYTHING!
But with no result.
The F***@@@#$¶äöó$* A' map lag is still remains to brake my nerves!!!

And you know what is the most silly thing?
That in DIRECT DRAW the game runs fine!!!
AHAHAHAHA, isn't sarcastic?
I mean the 3D is ment for give extra performance not reducing it!!!
I have make to run Unreal T. like a GOD but no the stupid Diablo 2 LOD.

And all that in a decent system I say.
QDI Advance 5 E/133 - Via Apollo Pro
PIII 600mhz /133bus
256mb SDRAM /133mhz
Geforce DDR 32bm
Quantum 20 gb HDD 7200 rpm
SBLive!

D3D mode is designed for higher end computers that want to take advantage of the extra features, not because it offers a speed improvement, but because it offers a visual improvement. DirectDraw is what was designed to give the best speed on the lower end systems. (Probably didn't think that a P3-600 was low-end did you?) For your system, if you wanna run the game smoothly (especially at 800x600), you'll need to stick to DirectDraw since D3D just doesn't seem able to handle it.

Diablo 2 takes way more power than an FPS game to run-- don't ask why, it just does.

Try keeping at 640x480 and lowering the detail settings if you want to use 3D

if you are playing on the realms (b.net) the network lag will also slow you down

This is caused by the server load and your ISP and the Internet in general.

So try playing at 4am when nobody's on

the map really does slow things down a lot

you playing on a network? if so.. allocate a dedicated 4mb ram to the IRQ that has your network card on it.. if on a dialup connection.. then dedicate that ram to the IRQ with the modem.. also ensure that none of the IRQ's are shared with any other major component.

I used D3D on my system 800x600 res and my comp is a P3-450 with 128mg RAM and a ATI Rage Pro 32mg Vid card and it ran perfectly smooth....

maybe u should go to computer click add/remove programs then remove the stuff that your not using

Yeah google does not filter those bots. I remember when Apex was doing Google ads I saw the same IPs in there as I was seeing here - google is totally tracking all those bots as traffic and most google traffic, at least ours, was all bots

Weekend went by too fast. Next weekend I am going to try to do a nature thing - buddy of mine lives by the Colorado river and has some kayaks and invited me to do some kayaking from a place he knows to get on the river.
  • Ghan Ghan:
    That sounds like an adventure.

  • The Helper The Helper:
I wonder how all these bots that sit on the lastest content page get passed anubis or maybe they did not but they are just registering on whos online
  • The Helper The Helper:
showing up on whos online not registration
  • Ghan Ghan:
The first gate is stopping all the bots that don't execute javascript.
  • Ghan Ghan:
That's the main thing with Anubis - no Javascript, no site. Typically you can still get the site to load without Javascript.
  • The Helper The Helper:
I remember the whole javascript thing, question - how many real people disable that?
  • The Helper The Helper:
Hell I guess I could go back on the stats to know that - we probably capture that and we know the before and after
  • Ghan Ghan:
Real users can't really disable Javascript anymore these days.
  • Ghan Ghan:
The internet is broken without it.
  • Ghan Ghan:
    Bot readable, not human usable.
  • The Helper The Helper:
    got it
