If I ever get finished with Virtua and I don't get bored of the editor, I have an idea to make several large maps bound together to form The Chronicles. No, it won't be like a Campaign. Rather, you can choose which part of The Chronicles you like and host it around battle.net. The idea is that there will be many triggers which revolve around random ideas for form a slightly different story yet on the same map space. In the end, it revolves around a massive plot for those who like story on the side of enriching yourself in Air Ships, Ordinary Ships, and ordinary land combat. I will briefly denote the plot in each part of The Chronicles.

Backstory (this might make a map)

In the beginning of time there was a massive being of energy. No one knew where he came from, since there were nobody at the time, just the being. Now the being, in an indescribable feeling--one that somewhat resembled loneliness--broke himself in half. Shifting his energy around, he created a massive single planet and then fell into deep slumber, but not before populating his planet with strange creatures. They were not humans, but they were humanoid--if you'd use that word to describe their appearance.

Their timeline was slower than the humans. They would be able to live up to 1000 human years, and so their timeline was 10 times slower.

Now billions and billions of years (their time) passed by, and they slowly grew bored of one another. Technology was going up and up and soon they needed to use more and more of the millions of different resources located on their planet. So, in desparation, a million of them put their heads together and created the Three Artifacts. The Energy Maker, The Energy Eater, and The Energy Exchanger. In their boredom, they planned to use the Energy Eater against those who opposed them.

And the being soon woke from his slumber suddenly noticing this. In rage he appeared before the planet and then proceeded to thrash the nation of his creations. But as he drew near to the lab holding the artifacts, he noticed the Energy Exchanger pointed right at him--the Eater had fallen into the ocean and the Maker had been scattered into little pieces. They fired before noticing what the beast was exactly and the next thing that happened was the mysterious breaking up of the gigantic planet as the being split into thousands of little beings that all scattered as fast as possible. A lot of the creatures quickly jumped aboard a space ship and left the planet's atmosphere just before it totally broke apart and incinerated the rest of the creatures.

Now there were many small fragments of all sorts of metals as well as chunks of the planet's core, which formed little burning balls of gas that they called "stars". Noticing that the one they changed was their creator, they sought to correct their mistake and used their technologies to start life on some of the chunks of rock that were suspended as opposed to the ring of fragments that was around which would be known as the Oort Cloud.

And life blossomed. The creatures departed and who knows what happened to the little mini beasts.

Chronicles of Land ~Volume 1~

Life started on many different planets and with much difference--each creature used their own thoughts in creating each one. Some wished to be not seen, some wished to be glorified. And Earth had a creature that wanted to be glorified.

Earth was in its beginning stages. It was very, very rocky with little pools of water, but where there was pools, there was life--in the form of plants or animals--perhaps even the beings known as Humans.

The creature of Earth wished to test how much the Humans resembled him, so he made them a distinct garden and created a Male and Female--for he thought there should be such a thing as "gender" and that not all life needs to split in half and reform or just be piled up in inanimate objects and magically come to life.

His test proved correct. In his Garden of "Eden", the humans disobeyed and ate the fruit--which had no real difference from the other fruit, it was just showed to be when the creature of Earth created a servant (who would be eventually called Satan) for himself who "secretly" passed on "advice" to the Humans.

And now he made a big show. Proclaiming himself in the human language as "God", he cast out the humans into the tough land and watched them reproduce.

And thousands of years later, the Chronicles of Earth take place.

The land was practically the same, but now there was more life since the Humans needed it to continue living themselves. Fire was invented, the wheel was then, and so was the alphabet. In the end, there was now a medieval-technology setting.

You start with a hero and you wander across the rocky land saving Humans from other humans (with small armies). Over time you gain gold and with gold you can buy supplies and troops and form your own little empire and army. As your hero grows old, he decides to research into a new topic that has arisen. A new kind of energy has appeared on Earth--and it is dubbed Magic (brought with "God" as he makes his appearance). One can mess with the energies of nature and twist it to ones likeness--and even give one eternal life. Build the Magic Channeling Centre and right then your hero will die and you must defend your base from a rush of enemies seeking to prevent you from tampering with Magic.

Survive or not, the Magic Centre will be completed, by you or someone else. And just then, it occurs to your son (who survives) that you had one too many water mages. The world begins to rumble as the plane of water overflows and pours out of the centre.

Desparate, your son hero uses magic to get to the tallest tower alongside a few of the surviving villagers and mages. It is then that the invention of a Boat is formed. Just then the water starts to reach the peak of the mountain and the boat is filled.

Chronicles of Sea ~Volume 2~

Food is dwindling in the boat fast after several months, but fortunately the water level seems to be dropping. You send out a bird and it returns with a leaf. Following the direction of the bird, you run ashore an island.

The island turns out to be ridiculously tiny, but you're able to get resources with which to build a large flagship. Your villagers learn better how to man a ship and soon you are a one ship navy. Traveling on the now plentiful water, you come across people who have survived. Some dwell on the land, for some islands are incredibly large, while some dwell in the sea, and have been noticed as Pirates.

As the Supreme Captain dies, a new one gains the rank, and basically your hero stays the same as time passes by. Gather your crew together and seek out to get the strongest land team (level up the captain besides his mates), and also seek to get the strongest navy (they can level up and be equipped with cannon and such, too).

Word reaches your ears that a strange new race has landed. The original "God" and his servants. The creation would surpass the creator for the creator was not almighty.

A war passes between you and what was your "God". Eventually his forces are decimated and he retreats into what seems like an impossible place--air. Your opinion soon changes though when you notice one air ship that wasn't taken. Studying the material, you make your own ships and go to air to finish the battle once and for all.

Chronicles of Air ~Volume 3~

To your surprise there are floating islands up here and quite a few have villages of people who have the knowledge of Air. According to them, there is no water or ground beneath the clouds--only energy that tears you apart. Surprised you are when you take a small expedition down to find that "God" destroyed the world as you escaped.

Once again, you are on your own with a few villagers who are descendants of the mages and other people who helped your many great grandfather such a while ago. Anyway, you have to get an aerial navy while forming an empire in the skies.

And at the emergence of your empire, "God" looks upon it and notices that people have survived his wrath. Enraged, he charges upon your empire and you toss up a big and bloody fight across the skies for survival.

"God" is slain--his ship broken apart and incinerated. He wasn't immortal after all. His servants scattered and as you look upon his main ship, which was incredibly strong compared to anything you could manage, you see a strange technology. Perhaps one could fly up further than this blue dome--but it'd take a lot of firepower.

And it was found.

Chronicles of Space ~Volume 4~

The final volume. You can play as many different races, each of which have their own stories.

Humans ~~ Same where it left off. They now own one planet and are quite mediocre in all subjects of expansion and peacefulness.

Namor ~~ These are the "creatures". The one who called himself "God" was one of these. They look a lot like humans and carry a lot of the characteristics, except that they aren't very physical. Basically, they have energy on the inside. Space has hardened them and they are quite vigorous in their building and manipulation--they're great at getting followers.

Bessians ~~ One of the first Namorian creations. Bessa was killed by "God" in a dispute, but the Bessians live on as a very noble race. They look like centaurs only with six legs, not four. Their skin is of quite bizarre complexion, and their insides are wholesomely composed of a substance similar to magic. Therefore, they can both fight magically and physically really well. However noble and strong they are, they are dumb otherwise, and their space ships look like floating hunks of metal.

Kadrackians ~~ Another of the first Namorian creations. Kadrack was an artist Namor and mysteriously disappeared for unknown reasons. Still, Kadrackians live in harmony. They don't believe in war, and are rather composed to sit there and toss heaps of resources at problems. Want a ton of Iron? Want a ton of Gharia? Go right ahead, just don't bother us.

Valians ~~ The last of the first Namorian creations. Val was a scientist Namor and still lives as the last of the Namor Survivors--so he leads the bunch. Val with his super intelligence in never fully believing anything until he had proof or his contentment with not being worshipped for his good-doings seems to be why the Valians are so technologically advanced and how the Namorians still live and thrive. Anyway, Valians are the scientists. They are very fragile at war and don't believe in it anyway. In the mean time, they're busy composing the most beautiful and efficient space ships you've ever seen. Valians tend to give technology to the Namorians in exchange for the Namorians' resources (for which the Namorians actually have none--they take it all from the Kadrackians).

Prusians ~~ Strange lizard-like creatures that thrive on sucking the energy out of everything in sight. They have a strange belief that they are from the thousand spawn of the original Creator of the Namorians.

And it's all a big land-grab mess. The Prusians start a nasty war with the Namorians and Humans (and the Namorians and Humans can ally against them). The Prusians lose and suddenly shatter the planets of the Kadrackians and Valians while putting the pressure on the Bessians, who are too prideful to ask for assistance. Based on what you do with your starting out Champion hero, crew members, and space ships, the Bessians are either driven extinct or repair themselves, the Prusians into hiding or universe domination, the Kadrackians and Valians extinct or reestablished in a hidden galaxy, the Namorians and/or Humans defeated or dominate the world.

Anyone can ally with anyone. Back-stabbing is quite possible and if you like reigning supreme without having to converse with other people first, then do so. But, if you do back-stab, it may be possible to have an alliance formed against you and you driven extinct.

So I guess this could take a lot of work. Maybe I should just make my own computer game to do this.....

Erm, it sounds good!

I'm strongly reminded of the Death Gate Cycle, a seven-book series by Margaret Weis and Tracy Hickman. It's somewhat different from yours, but I can't really tell you how without giving it away. And I really recommend reading those books, as they're quite good.

Perhaps, though, you're a bit heavy-handed with the Christian theology. Just an observation. Still, if it came out, I'd play it ;)

Christian Theology? Not in the slightest! Still though, it is really no problem. I don't hear Christians complaining about how Halo isn't played off as there being a God or RPG fans about there being one. Most RPGs have Gods/Goddesses, it's just how things work.

This story just gives a completely perverted twist to the Christian belief, so I honestly don't see why anyone could complain about it. It's not like it actually happened/could possibly happen.

Like the Left Behind stories. Some secular people read them because they're convinced (and I'm convinced there is no rapture) that the whole story is fiction. It's just written well and better than that "I date you, you date me, we love each other" or "let's see how many bodies we can gore up" crap that Disney (the before, not the latter) and some authors put out.

Well, I'll check into those books. Haven't heard of them until now :D

Not...going...to...read...all that?

*Snaps*

*Gains composure*

Wow, I guess a lot of people don't like to read.

Cause honestly man, the full story with be at least 100 times bigger.
