The Complete Guide to Hell vs Heaven
What is Hell vs Heaven?
Hell vs Heaven is a popular (well...used to be) custom game hosted on WC3 TFT battle.net. Hell vs Heaven is a very unique hero arena with tons of heroes to choose from and secret heroes within the game. Hell vs Heaven, while needs to be edited by someone because of some errors and unfair experiences, is fun and engaging (and pretty addicting) and offers many different ways to play.
In this guide you can learn how to play, how to get better. and how to be the best in Hell vs Heaven. I will fully explain how each area works and common strategies and so forth.
1. The Basics of Hell vs Heaven:
The basics of Hell vs Heaven consist of Heroes, Terrain, Duels, Items...and more. In This tutorial/guide you will learn about all of these. You will make a hero, fight and gain exp. to level up and defeat others. Below are all the basics and some advanced things for Hell vs Heaven.
NOTE: This guide is based off of the "Hell vs Heaven (Final)" game
2. The Heroes:
The heroes of Hell vs Heaven are unique and somewhat balanced. Some heroes are are a more powerful version of the WC3 melee heroes or slightly modified ones. When the game starts you will be at a hero arena divided into 2 sections. Which side you are on is determined when you join the game on b.net. There is a Hell side and a Heaven side, each with different heroes to choose from. There are some heroes that are better than others though (see "the perfect game" below). A fun part of Hell vs Heaven is that there is the option to become a new, stronger hero at the cost of starting at level one again. There are also secret heroes that have secret item combinations in order to become them (see "secrets of Hell vs Heaven" below). To change youre hero in-game you have to get a hero essence, you can either buy one in your base at the hero essence shop or at the secret shop or you have to make one out of special items for secret heroes (see "secrets of Hell vs Heaven" below). Once you have the essence look around the map for the altar where your hero is and bring the essence to the corresponding altar. Most heroes when you change heroes wont get rid of all of your other items but to make sure put your items in you base and say not to touch them while you change heroes. (ask someone for help in-game if you really don't get how to change heroes and the altar thing...its hard to explain)
3. The Terrain and Layout:
Hell vs Heaven has a unique terrain and layout that is in ways a hero arena but also brings in a solo almost RPG like feel to it. In the middle of the map is an area referred to as "the center" or in item combinations the "center lightning" where there is 1 bolt of lightning and that is where you start out. There are 2 health and 2 mana fountains around the area that can provide health and mana in the beginning. After about 1 or 2 minutes into the game a message will apear and "Satan" will be in the middle and will kill most people who go into the middle area. This is where the "arena" part fades away. Being forced to either go around the area or die trying you will mostly be competing in a race with your enemies to become the most powerful first. The main time where you are engaged in battle with the other side is in a duel (see "duel system" below). The terrain consists of pockets of creeps to get money for items and stuff where there are easier creeps closer to the bases and harder creeps closer to the center. The huge map consists of many different things to encounter so if its your first time playing...explore a little. There are gates located by some of the creep pockets that randomly opens and leads to a weak boss, then a hard boss, and an extremely hard boss that can lead to good rewards and items.
4. Duel System:
Like i said in the above paragraph, the duel will later in the game become the "proving point" in Hell vs Heaven where you can see who is best from each side. The dueling competitors are chosen by who has the most kills (as you can see on the leaderboard). So if you really want to duel you have to go to the other side and kill the enemy players untill you have the highest amount of kills on your team. The duel timer in the corner will indicate when the next duel is. When you are killed in a duel you can drop an item so keep your good items in the 1st and 2nd slot of your inventory (they are safe from being dropped). After the duel is over it will give a kill to the winner and then place the winner where he was before and revive the loser at their base.
5. Items and shops:
Items:
The items in hell vs heaven are almost all made up, unique and the good ones are hard to get. From most creeps in the playing area you will get regular melee game items that don't increase your stats much. The main items you will be getting is from the "risk" and "gamble" in the shop in your base (see below) The Gate Keeper And Key Master and the 2 "guardians" of the middle located between the base and the center. They look like giant magnatuars tinted purple and yellow. They appear about 30 seconds after the first duel of the game and often times whoever kills them the first they will drop a "Kelens Dagger of Escape" which is very useful for item combinations and getting to hard places easily. The "gate keeper" and "key master" drop very good items most of the time if you kill them so kill them often. You can also kill enemy players for their items if you don't mind taking risks but keep in mind the 1st and 2nd slots of yours and enemy inventories are safe from drops. See "secrets of Hell vs heaven" below to learn more about the extremely good items of the game and how to get them.
Shops:
The shops in Hell vs Heaven help a lot with getting items. In your base their are 5 shops (i think). Look below for their uses and what they sell:
Tome Shop- sells tomes to increase stats and your level. Don't buy tomes here unless you have everything you want and youre rich.
General Shop- Basic items for combinations and contains the risk and gamble features. Buy TONS of gamble and risk and the other things for item combinations.
Potion Shop- Sells potions for health, mana, and special uses. Well...i have never bought anything from here so if you want to go ahead nut you never need to.
Hero essence shop- sells hero essences for changing your hero. You can make your hero more powerful by doing this.
Mercenary Shop- sells units used for building and for your own use in battle. I'm not even sure of the point of this shop but its pretty pointless...lol i suggest not buying anything from here.
Secret Shop- This shop is protected by Illidan and it sells very useful items and 2 good hero essences. It is located behind the Heaven side's base. It can only be reached by teleporting to the circle of power that leads to the shop. The 2 ways to teleport to it are by entering the lightning bolt in the middle of the arena when God is their (can summon him by typing "God doesn't exist") or by entering the circle of power passed the bosses (the ones where the gates randomly open and you fight harder and harder bosses).
The other way to enter is get a potion of invulnerability and use the dagger of escape to "blink" by the shop and quick use the potion so your invulnerable and buy your items quick and get back. The other way that requires only a dagger of escape that I discovered is described below:
1. Get a Kelen's Dagger of Escape
2. Use the "blink" ability form the dagger to get near the shop
3. NOTE: you must make sure that the gate by Illidan is not destroyed
4. make illidan chase u by running up to him and running south after it so he stays right by the gate but far enough away from the shop.
5. go around the shop (make sure Illidan doesn't chase you or move) and blink right by the shop and Illidan will still be by the gate and you will be safe.
6. "blink" back and use the items you got from it.
6. The Secrets of Hell vs Heaven:
Here are all the hidden things in Hell vs Heaven to give you the upper hand:
Every secret Item Combination and how to get all the secret heroes are found below in the 2 links:
All the secret items and combinations
All the heroes and hero essence combinations and how to become the heroes
There is the Secret Shop from above where there are hard to get items and rare items is also a part secret thing.
(those 2 links pretty much cover everything lol...)
7. Commands and Abbreviations in the game:
Here are some commands you can type in the game:
"God doesn't exist" to summon God in the middle
"There's no evil" to summon Archimonde in the middle
"Jesus christ" to commit suicide
Red and Green can type "Goldrush" to get the maximum amount of gold
Here are some Abbreviations in the game that some people use in chat:
"CP"- Celestial Power
"AP"- Angel Power
"NS"- Nature Stone
"CL"- Center Lightning
"Chosen"- Elpriede: The Chosen One (a secret hero)
8. Cheap, Unfair, and Rigged things in Hell vs Heaven:
Things you should never do:
-in the heaven base in the hero essence shop there is a hero called "Nature"...never get him (he is rigged)
- Get the Chosen One ( ask everyone if you can use him before using him)
- teleport into another base and steal items
- steal your teammate's items
- kill your teammates for no reason
- teleport out of the dueling arena
- leave during a duel
- kill yourself constantly
- make players leave from your actions
Almost every hero has one cheap thing about them so try not to complain too much about it and a lot of items are cheap too so... try to just keep playing and get stronger.
Strategies, walk through, and ways to play:
9. The common and unexperienced way to play (no cheats):
This is a way you probably want to avoid doing so I'm putting it out here to show what you shouldn't do the whole game through. First you start out and pick a kinda bad hero then you chase your opponents until you get to there base and they all come out and kill you. You come out of you base after buying some tomes and try to kill a group of creeps that end up killing you. You buy potions so you wont die and then miss out on the gambles and risks later on. You then repick a hero because he sucks and you redo a slightly better way but you are so far behind you cant keep up and you don't know how to mix items or if you do you make a searing blade and think its a good item and try to kill a enemy hero and end up dieing...basically you suck all the way through. (avoid doing any of this)
10. The perfect game (no cheats):
This is how to have a perfect game and own everybody else:
The perfect game for Heaven: Start out and choose Atlas: The Titan and get the devotion aura and try to kill any enemy heroes in the beginning but don't chase them too much. Then go kill creeps until you level up to Level 2 and choose Attribute Bonus (this will give you enough mana for your spells instead of choosing a spell and having to wait for a while and it will give you a small bonus) and kill more creeps until level 3 and choose "Slam level 1" now go to the creep area with the nerubians and use "slam" while in the middle of them all (they have generally low health and provide good money) you should now have enough money for a gamble or two. Go to your base and gamble and hopefully you will get a good item such as "nature stone" or a "gauntlets of atlas" or even "crown of kings" continue to fight until you have a good item like those and after the first duel wait about 20 seconds and do everything you can to kill the Guardian magnatuar thing (i forgot which ones are on which side) first so you can get the Kelen's Dagger of Escape (pray to god that you get it) Now you put the dagger in your 1st item slot so it wont drop (or second slot if you prefer). Now get all the money you can and always get risks from here on (unless you need a certain item like nature stone). Now is where you choose... you can either try to get Gauntlets of Creria right away (and chosen if they allow it), or you can get the Blade of Illidan which will get rid of the useless dagger and will give good stat bonuses and then try to get the gauntlets. (its all up to you) if you want the gauntlets then save up 350,000 gold. Now drop everything from your inventory except the dagger and use the guide on how to get to the secret shop from above (in the Shops and Items section under "Secret Shop) and get to the secret shop. Then buy Angel Fire, Angel Ice, Angel Lightning, and Angel Pain (if you already have an angel item don get another one from the shop unless you already have an angel fire then buy another angel fire for later). Once you have all the angels go to the center lightning and make an Angel Power. Then head back to your base and get another Angel Fire and a Nature Stone. Once you have those go to the Altar of Power (the circle in the middle of the gateways and the most common item fusing area) to get the Bloodstone. Once you have that follow the item list (link above in "secrets of Hell vs Heaven" part) to get the Runestone. Now ask if you can get chosen. If so use the Kelen's Dagger of Escape to teleport you to the Altar of Chosen (the blue thing directly south of the Altar of power [gateway area] that has the blue beam in it and the four crystals surrounding it) to get the Chosen One. Notice you will still have the dagger and the Runestone in your inventory. Now with the runestone and the rest of the items for the Gauntlets of Creria (use item list...link above an by the way if you didn't notice the Chosen One has a teleport ability to go anywhere so you can ditch the dagger [i suggest giving it to a teammate]) Now use his teleprt abilty to got o the Altar of Chosen to get the Gauntlets of Creria. Now level Elpriede up to 30. Now going back a bit to the area where you choose to pick Blade of Illidan or Gauntlets of Creria...If you chose to get the Blade of Illidan then you need to get the following items: Nature Stone, Angel Lightning, Claws of Attack, and Kelen's Dagger of Escape. Once you get the Claws of Attack and Angel lightning fuse them in the Altar of power to get the "Beastmaster's Claw" now you should have: Beastmaster's Claw, Dagger of Escape, and Nature Stone. Go to the Center Lightning to make your cool and deadly "Blade of Illidan" (and it still has the teleport ability like the dagger of escape so your not losing that ability) Now go back and get the Gauntlets and Chosen (if allowed)...You now can use the item list (link above in items area) to get some of the best items like "Staff of God" and "Gauntlets of Archimonde" and "Golden Halberd". Once you have those along with you "Gauntlets of Creria" you can now kill everything and everyone in the game. So...kill the opponents until you win (wont be hard at all) and...Congrats! you win. :shades:
The perfect game for Hell: Start out and choose Anu'Barak: The Crypt Lord and get the Spiked Carapace and try to kill any enemy heroes in the beginning but don't chase them too much. Then go kill creeps until you level up to Level 2 and choose Attribute Bonus (this will give you enough mana for your spells instead of choosing a spell and having to wait for a while and it will give you a small bonus) and kill more creeps until level 3 and choose another ability now go to a good area to kill creeps and kill a mass amount of them. You should now have enough money for a gamble or two. Go to your base and gamble and hopefully you will get a good item such as "nature stone" or a "gauntlets of atlas" or "crown of kings" continue to fight until you have a good item like those and after the first duel wait about 20 seconds and do everything you can to kill the Guardian magnatuar thing (i forgot which ones are on which side) first so you can get the Kelen's Dagger of Escape (pray to god that you get it) Now you put the dagger in your 1st item slot so it wont drop (or second slot if you prefer). Once you have that follow the item list (link above in "secrets of Hell vs Heaven" area) to get the Runestone. Now with the runestone and the rest of the items for the Guantlets of Creria (use item list...link above and by the way if you didn't notice the Chosen One has a teleport ability to go anywhere so you can ditch the dagger [i suggest giving it to a teamate]) Now use his teleport ability to got o the Altar of Chosen to get the Gauntlets of Creria. Go to the Center Lightning to make your cool and deadly "Blade of Illidan" (and it still has the teleport ability like the dagger of escape so your not losing that ability) Now go back and get the Gauntlets and Chosen (if allowed)...You now can use the item list (link above in "secrets of Hell vs Heaven" area) to get some of the best items like "Staff of God" and "Gauntlets of Archimonde" and "Golden Halberd". Once you have those along with you "Gauntlets of Creria" you can now kill everything and everyone in the game. So...kill the opponents until you win (wont be hard at all) and...Congrats! you win. :shades:
11. The Perfect Game (with cheats):
This is actually identical to the above strategies except you can use cheats to speed it up and as soon as the game starts pick a hero and go to your base to (if you are red or green then use the cheats or if you arn't then wait for them) get risk, gamble, and tomes of experience. The cheats just speed the game up and make it more difficult to compete. If there is cheats after you are content with your hero or don't know what to do...buy tomes (because in a non-cheat game its a waste of money but in a cheat-game there isn't a money limit. When you buy tomes though make sure you buy either you primary attribute +10 tome or the Manuals of Longevity. Then just play a game and win !!!
I will work on this and polish it over time until it is 100% complete but it is about 99% complete now so i hope this guide helps anyone who plays HvH (final) or is interested in it.
Also if you did not notice above check out my first Hell vs Heaven thread (has all the combinations) and you can find it here .so i hope you like the guide and hoped it helps
