Okay, I'm making a Rpg called the dark's rise, I've basically got all the heros finished, (there are fourteen of them) (still open for suggestions though) It's not going to be an open rpg, the route you go on is set for you. I think I'll add fishing, mining and herb gathering, the rocks values from worst to best is: Bronze, Iron, Steel, Black, Mithril, Dragon, Crystal. there's probably going to be a field full a rocks for you to mine from. If you take a bronze shield and an steel piece to the smither, you get a steel shield and so on.

Fishing will probably be made by: you go to the fishing place, then you get a unit called Rod, which has attack ground abillity and you attack the river with the fishies inside, your hero will be forced to wait because if you go there, you'll kill the fishies much easier, for you have homing. And when you hit a fish, you'll get a Raw fish in your inventory, which can be cooked and eaten at the town fire, it serves as potions.

and Herb gathering is cool too, I'm making a trigger to create shimmerweeds all over the map every X seconds which will ensure a supply of herbs, and different herbs taken to the brewer will make different potions.

I'm wondering if I should have a lot of custom spells or if normal spells with changed effects and stuff works just fine, I've played ones with normal spells, but I think custom spells would be more exciting, although it would take a long time.

My current heros are

Knight

Warrior

Chaos Fighter

Sorceress

Warlock

Neocromancer

Priest

Rouge

Barbarian

Mage

Hunter

And... ummm. can't remember the rest.
Anyways, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. (I've got the quests half finished)

I'm okay with ideas:

(evil) Diment - Freezes a target unit, doing painful and saddening damage to them.

level 1 - Lasts 15 seconds. Does 10 damage per second.
level 2 - Lasts 30 seconds. Does 25 damage per second.
level 3 - Lasts 45 seconds. Does 50 damage per second.

Give Holy Light and Death Coil adjusting so that the caster can use it on himself.

(good) Gealenify - Strikes a target unit, virtually killing it, can fully heal allies.

level 1 - Does up to 350 damage. Heals up to 600 health.
level 2 - Does up to 500 damage. Heals up to 750 health.
level 3 - Instantly kills a target enemy unit. Fully heals an ally.

Names (just incase :p):
evil-
Hillanor
Thelia
Tharkna
De'Rattaol
(dee-rat-tay-all)
Tharonifus
Glaciana

good-
Harnulas
Deshara
Illorhi
(ill-or-hee)
Rancharoosula
Deathonitiation
Rarculin
(ra-R-cool-in)
Heroinia
Lalumina

those werent heroes, they were clearly names for your heroes ;)

Have a system which displays a message to a player when they enter a new place. Example:

If a unit enters a volcano place, a message is displayed to the owner of that unit "a volcano place".

Hope these are what you are after.

Any more?

those are great suggestions, I may use a few but do you have any more? I've thot of a great idea for the desert lolz.

tonnes ^^

Secret locations - when someone finds a secret location, they get masses of gold and a bunch of items. The location then becomes a base which is permanently visible to whoever gets it first.

Sound activated room - a special place where, if someone is in this room, and they chat, the unit in the room blows up.

Maybe to add to your world, a huge castle owned by the evil ones. (May i suggest using WEU to make the map size bigger to fit the castle in?)

Giant statue of worship - anyone who goes near it is fully restored, they get a free cookie too :D

Perhaps a haunted forest, loads of traps in it and lots of people die in there, maybe make it so that trees come alive and corpses come alive and when they kill someone, they gain flesh and turn into zombies, and when zombies kill someone, they gain flesh and turn into a powerful alienated beings!

A small plot in the game: Maybe have items which make people think: "WOW! Now that's an item!" but it contains something which can alienate and create a new species against everyone!

Example (note that this is what they say when chatting, i am not meant to sware offensively in this):

Dummy - WOW! Now there's an item!
20 seconds later
Dummy - wtf? why i am going so slow!?
acid bomb effect, monster generates right next to the hero
Dummy - omfg! A big... scary... thing!
monster kills hero, 5 more of the same monster is reborn

Maybe it takes a really strong hero to kill them!

hope this is enough for you :D

EDIT: i am using this ability but you can if you want:

Inialate: Destroys buildings in a small area.

level 1 - AoE = 75
level 2 - AoE = 150
level 3 - AoE = 300

a bit destructive but i dont care, thats how i like most abilities to be :D

Nice

I like the sound activated room and the forest, I'll probably use some, and (not to be offensive or something) These ideas were much better than the ones before. :shades: Maybe sum 1 could use those ideas in a maze type game or sumthing, it's really cool. :D

thanks!

Cheers :shades:

I tried, but it gets a bit complicated in a maze.

i thought of something else which i used in a map before.

Whenever someone types in a word, a sound plays

e.g: someone says hi, then you hear the banshee saying hi.

They should have done that anyway so that blind people could make out what others said

Also, abilities are really good for games:

Creep Inialation (ultimate): Inialates all creeps in a very large area.

(Make sure you do a trigger to bring back creeps after a while if they're dead).

Make a place in a village so that people can get a job (change hero class):

Unit - cost - payment per second
Soldier - 150 gold - 1 gold per second
Chemist - 470 gold - 2 gold per second
Mage - 800 gold - 5 gold per second
Scientist - 1250 gold - 30 gold per second
Ninja Spy - 2500 gold 500 lumber - 150 gold per second.
Guardian (ultimate) - 10000 gold - 500 gold per second.

Add more if you do this so that people get more variety.

Say that they get a reward if they work for 48 hours:

Soldier - Bronze Shield
Chemist - Master Chemistry set
Mage - Elder's Staff
Scientist - Brain of Frankenstiene
Ninja Spy - Cloak of Permanent Invisibility
Guardian - (some powerful thing, more powerful than the mithril hammer in dota, looks like a naga royal guards weapon.)

Ability trade: poeple go to a shop and they lose one of there abilities to get gold back and buy abilities (only if they dont have 5 abilities already).

Wandering Beast - make a "camera" item or something like that, and do a trigger so that if someone comes a distance with a random wondering beast, the camera is replaced with a photo and they get loads of cash at a shop if they sell it!

Panic Button - all heroes have a panic button in their command card which they can use to teleport out o trouble.

When they get to a certain and they have a job (scientist, mage etc), they get promoted, e.g:

Mage - 1-50
apprentice Mage - 1-75
Master Mage - 1-100

Im only this good with ideasif it is an RPG so your pretty lucky that is isnt a TD or something else :p

Rofl, here's a mountain idea, if you have one. Btw, this could work as the final area :shades:

Fool's Ascent: You arrive at the mountain, and find that the only way up is a long, treacherous path. As you begin to climb, creeps up above push boulders down your path! You must get out of the way of the boulders that roll down the path periodically, and from the sides of the mountain, or you will get stunned and damaged and thrown aside. At each switchback in the path, there are enemies (that get stronger as you go higher up) you must kill (boulders roll across only part of switchbacks; creeps are in a nook or ledge. When you are at some of the highest points, you can break rock chunks to unleash boulders upon the archerers that shoot at you from below, killing them instantly. When you get to the top of the mountain, you must face the boulder-thrower, who is a giant granite golem that rolls huge boulders and throws smaller rocks at you. You must dodge both of these attacks and destroy the rock chunks behind him to unleash his own boulders against him, burying and mortally wounding him. Once he dies, an earthquake orccurs; as you go down the other side of the mountain in a cinematic, the boulder thrower makes one last attempt to kill you by launching a HUGE boulder down the path towards you; you msut dash down the path, dodging enemies and smalelr boulders, Indiana Jones style. At the end of the path, you see a cave with a yawning chasm in front of it, and a narrow bridge (maybe temporarily tint water black). Run across the bridge before the boulder completely collapses it and the cave entrance and progress to the next level!

Haunted Mine: You are trapped in a dark mine (black fade filter). Find your way out alive or perish in the depths! As you move through the catacomb labyrinths, you must kill the skeletons that come by, banish the ghosts with magic, and dodge the mine carts (they are EMPTY O.O spooky ...) that zoom by with deadly potiental along the tracks. As you get deeper down, the enemies become scarier, spookier, slimer, etc. You find places where mine carts zoom by too closely to move through them and stay alive; destroy the supports at the start of the tunnels to collapse the mine cart tunnels. Enemies will begin to attack the supports to collapse the mine (their will be a leaderboard that shows the mine's remaining hp or whatever) and you need to stop them! With each support that collapses, the units around it are buried and the ground shakes a little more. You see a narow, flooded mineshaft; hit the support beams a couple times to knock them to the ground so you can enter / cross. Hit levers on platforms on the other side to temporarily raise bridge pieces, and then go across the bridges before the platforms sink with you on them (and you die X_X lol :>)) and cross the perilous maze! To challenge your might, there is a final area that consists of a large room, with a lot of various tracks that have deadly mine carts with DYNAMITE on them -_- lol. If you hit one, you instantly blow up and start a deadly chain reaction. You must cross the room by stopping the mine carts, as there are some places where the mine carts run 'bumper to bumper' along the rails, stopping you from getting through. In these cases, you must either target the explosive barrels that line the tunnel entrances and explode the tunnels, target a few water valves and flood the mine cart tunnels, target the support beams that hold the tunnels up to collapse them, or attack levers to toggle the path the mine carts take. Once you get through the last part (oh, and yes, there are also giant abysses to watch out for all through this level :>D) you emerge into:

The Volcanic Valley: A truely firey place, where [insert name of super evil person here] creates all of his evil armanenets. Fight along the cliffs that line the edge of the volcano; the volcano is in a circular spiral pattern, and to get into the inner spirals you must cross the bridges over the flames. The giant volacno in the center periodically shoots out flame bursts, and the magma rivers hurt your hero a little bit as you cross over them on the bridges and catwalks. Once you reach the center part of the volcano, you must fight the 'Volcano Master' or whatever (he summons fireballs and magma spawns from the rivers of fire around him). Once you destroy him, the magma falls slightly, and the volcano stops erupting; instead of a sea of fire, there is now a narrow path of hot coals (that HURT) that you must follow to a stairway set in lava (use the elevators and change their height) and climb to the Final Boss Level or whatever :p

ROFL, enjoy :D

Nice Ideas Yet....

Good ideas and I may use some of them but they're a bit dramatic arent they? Pretty complicated if you ask me, hmmm, I might try to use some of em, cool ideas you got there shadow.

Rofl, just check out my title :>)

Lolol, yes, some of them are a bit 'dramatic', but then I don't know what you need :p

I mean, posting "Go over hill. Kill bear. Go back to hill. Climb hill. Collect water from well. Pick up rock. Throw rock at Jack. Pour water over him. He will wake up. He will give you gold for reviving him. CLICK *please insert tape two* " is rather dull ...

ROFL :p :D You know, I might actually create the most uber map possible with my ideas, if my skill at warcrafting worlding editoring were as good.

Mainly, I present it in a dramatic format for my own amusement :>D I realize that some of the stuff I mentioned is only do-able with pros at mapping like ryoko and conan and darg. Then again, its still fun to read, it inspires people, and a lot of it is simple, easy to do stuff :D

Thx Anyways

Ty anyways for the ideas, though they're hard to make it gave me some ideas

edit I'm focusing on quests tat are a little easier, if all ur quests r tat complicated, you won't have space for a lot of em. But I do have a quest(sorta like tank wars thingy) tats more complicated, actually, a few.

Mayo also has vinegar. Vinegar is a very important part of it, it's effectively a delivery method FOR vinegar but hidden

It's a neat ingredient. But yeah it's eggs. But a LOT of people think eggs count as dairy because of the fucking food pyramid the US keeps trying to make a thing
  • Varine Varine:
I think on the new one they did change it, but idk. I don't really care whatever the government is doing right now because it's consistently absurd. Like what is RFK doing in charge of health anything? I love the bear story because WTF was that, but also, pretty much every time he talks it's WTF. Like even his voice sounds microwaved
    +1
  • Varine Varine:
The pyramid is fucking dumb as shit, no matter how you arrange it.
  • Varine Varine:
It's actually remarkably easy to make mayonnaise though. Fun fact, it USED to kind of be a French mother sauce. I believe that Careme considered it one, it may have been aioli but that has also built a different meaning than it used to. An aioli is just mayonnaise I mixed with other shit typically, I didn't start it don't come at me
  • Varine Varine:
It's very hard to do it on a large scale though
  • Varine Varine:
Depending on how you pour the oil the consistency can vary wildly, but that's true for most emulsions. I can only make about two quarts at a time with my robo coup, and if I have to make several in series because I forgot to order it becomes really obvious even when I do it. We have to wait and mix them all together to make sure we have the same thing.
  • Varine Varine:
Hollandaise is also kind of like that, emulsions require a very steady hand to do exactly the same every time.
  • Varine Varine:
Luckily I live in an age with electricity so it's way fucking faster, but when I was just a boy trying to find my place I had some hardcore chefs that made use do things like that by hand. It is WAY easier to get right by hand because you control it and can feel it, but it takes soooooo much longer. And on the scale a modern kitchen requires... I serve 400-500 guests on average per day right now, if I had 100 then we could do things way better
  • Varine Varine:
But we can't do that. In the winter yeah, but I HAVE to get people through here right now so I can afford the staff that we CAN do that. We have about 100 days of summer, and if that summer doesn't make us what it will, then I can't operate the other most of the year with my staff. The owner is talking about closing two days a week to cut down on labor, I told him he should cut down on vacations and it did not go great. I do think I won though, I have to keep my fucking core staff and they have to be gainfully employed
  • Varine Varine:
Sure some of them might take a second job, but I can't just cut my entire staff to unlivable hours, nor can I can cut them off all winter if I want them to come back.
  • Varine Varine:
And also, there is no fucking way I'm pulling these hours come september. I only do this right now because I have to, the second I don't have to be the one doing it I won't be
  • Varine Varine:
I have a 5 person core staff in the kitchen, not including me or Chef Ben
  • Varine Varine:
Though two of those people are likely not making it this year. One of them has been replaced, the other I am kind of trying to. He's being a giant bitch, today I had to get onto him because in the three hours before I left he had taken like thirty minutes for cigarette breaks
  • Varine Varine:
And he was also complaining to me the other day that he was out of weed so couldn't smoke any before work that day, and was confused about why I was annoyed he was telling me, his boss, that he is smoking weed everyday before work.
    +1
  • Varine Varine:
Like yeah I can tell. I don't need to fucking know.
  • Varine Varine:
So now he's getting scrutinized and will not be top of the list. I know I don't have the smartest people but I do expect them to have some common fucking sense
  • Varine Varine:
I did do a rare thing for me and hire a girl last month without warning. Everyone was made at me because I started her at like 21, but she worked with me before and I was like don't care. She made 19 at her old job and I wanted her to come work with me, she is the best
    +1
  • Varine Varine:
I'm going to get her a raise at the end of the summer. She wants to go to school again, but I want her to still work with me so.... she kind of can just tell me what the price is. I can go to 25 if she keeps up. I need to get her onto line more, that's what she wants, but I need her where she is and it's not fair that she doesn't get the little bit of raise that comes with it. She can do it no problem, I've worked with her there.
  • Varine Varine:
It's just hard to move and train people unnecessarily right now. And also the line fucking sucks, it's not any more fun. This is turn and burn so I have the bankroll, and everyone suffers for it
  • Varine Varine:
Eventually we'll get it balanced, we'
  • Varine Varine:
we're starting online orders and stuff, but I also turn that off all the time because I barely keep up trying to be the best at Sysco shit
  • Varine Varine:
I think it's gonna be a good fall and winter though. We're going to have a good staff, they will get along, they will be able to manage the workload and the complications, they know how to really cook this year, like every person on line knows their steak temps. Some of them use thermometers a lot and they don't always use them right, but they do know how to do it. Failure, especially in this field, is the only way to get better. They'll get it
  • Varine Varine:
They won't get feel down while they do the thermometer, but we didn't have an instant read probe when I was learning. Like they did but god knows how off it is, you HAD to do it by feel. Even if the chef was fine with me bringing my own, it takes too long. Poke and know
