Well we'd make a school for young prodigies to be trained in.They would train by using a simulated fight game. Then we'd use them to fight the invasion, but we wouldn't tell them that they were fighting real enemies.

Or we can befriend good aliens after the bad ones blow up the world and discover we have super powers, and then we use said powers to bring them down and then try and talk other aliens into going to war alongside us.
