I am not going to make rediculous comments or incorrect assumptions about John McCain
I am not going to attack his character or his politics.
I agree with the fact that many of his ideas would be very beneficial to America.

I am going to make the argument that a better canidate, in my opinion, does exists.

Before you can talk about Obama, doubt his patriotism, doubt his resolve, question his intelligence, or really have any idea of where he is comming from or what he believes, You have to watch this speech. It is the earmark of what Obama is about.

If you only listen to 1 thing your entire life that Obama has to say and truely understand him, I suggest you watch this.

John McCain isnt even in the same league as Obama. No competetion.

I am voting Obama. It is simple as that

There's a lot if influence from liberals into the media, and people watch the media, and then they hate Bush. Sure he's not the greatest president but I think he's not as bad as people make him out to be.

I'd want Obama to win but it feels like the entire current government is against him. I bet you he will dominate the public vote but I doubt he'll win the electoral vote.

I don't think America's a dictatorship either. It's more like a puppet show, and at times it's even a democratic republic (crazy right).

Foreigners tend to hate America, it's true. We are probably more wasteful than most countries, but like Americans they see things through a filtered view (media).

Its a good speech but still its just a speech.

The fact is that Obama is not addressing anything that I care about. He just wants to spend more money that we do not have and raise my taxes which I cannot afford to pay already.

Its hard for a Democrat to address anything a republican cares about.

You guys are willing to support a trillion dollar war, taking into account troops, vehicles, aircraft, supplies and fuel, reconstruction efforts, private contracting, private security, funding for secular organizations to lower casualty rates (aka "The Surge" ), GI/Vocational programs for returning troops, and above all, healthcare for returning soldiers. While a majority of terrorists hide in the mountainous regions of Afghanistan and the nuclear umbrella of Pakistan.

LMFAO .... A trillion dollar war, by conservative standards, and im not even a Republican, and you wonder why your having trouble paying your taxes.

All those lives, all that money, all that equipment, and you guys can't even secure a F*kn road from Bahgdad to the Airport.

If republicans are conservative, can someone tell me what the hell it is you guys conserve? It sure as hell isn't security, money or the enviroment.

I think conservatives have this misconception that we are randomly spending people's money. Raising taxes on the middle class wouldn't happen, just the upper class (by a very small amount). The money needed to fund meaningful things like healthcare would come from wasteful spending such as the war and corporate tax cuts.

It's kind of hard for democrats to address anything useful with a plan that actually works, too.

And god forbid that returning soldiers get their GI bill and can go to college. How fucking terrible is that? And you've obviously no idea what a conservative is.

Conservatives can be democratic, too. Since you're using the word synonomously with Republican pretty much, I'm taking it you're not that intelligent about the political structures of America. McCain is incrediably liberal.

And have you ever been to Iraq? No, so you have no idea what the fuck is going on. You've got your misconceptions that you get from CNN and CBS and all those idiots who do most all of their reporting from a secured hotel room probably, reporting on the latest car bomb and some deaths, but somehow fail to mention that the Security Forces are assuming responsibility for nine of the provinces, or about how well the elections went, or about the chemical stash that was found, or about the supergun that was being dismantled, or that Iraq's new government is progressing faster than Germany or Japan did following World War II, or that the number of Iraqi soldiers now outnumber American soldiers there, or that deployments are being reduced by three months because of the progression being seen.

Maybe you should stop bitching about Iraq and realize that there a lot more issues here than over there. But instead of blaming the local, generally democratic, governments for their problems, it's a hell of a lot easier to blame the Bush administration for getting into a war that you thought would be like another Desert Storm instead of realizing that it takes a long fucking time to replace a government.

All that money that the democrats spent in the 1990's, and all those chances they had, and they couldn't even kill Bin Laden before he was hiding in one of the countless mountains, because SOMEONE couldn't decide whether to allow lethal force or not. And then there was the Democrat's war in Somalia. And Bosnia, and then the military being cut by 30% really helped everyone out.

I think conservatives have this misconception that we are randomly spending people's money. Raising taxes on the middle class wouldn't happen, just the upper class (by a very small amount). The money needed to fund meaningful things like healthcare would come from wasteful spending such as the war and corporate tax cuts.

Not randomly. Just stupidly. Medicare alone was over 3% of the GDP last year. 2007's GDP was over 13.5 trillion. That's over 400 billion dollars for one year. The war has cost 530 billion in six years. So no, ending the war isn't going to help your health care, because Obama's plan, if he were actually stupid enough to try and do it, would cost billions upon billions of dollars, and then it would fail because it sucks.

Republicans love to use the argument that "the war is going well" as some sorta flawed rebuttal to the fact that the war was a complete mistake in the first place. Accepting the fact that progress on the ground is improving is irrelevant in the scope of the general argument.

Maybe you should stop bitching about Iraq and realize that there a lot more issues here than over there.

Uhhh....?? Maybe I am missing something but I believe that domestic issues are at the heart of the Democratic agenda. Apparently your not that intelligent when it comes to politics otherwise you might be aware of this fact, Hence I want to end the war and put the money in places where it counts as discussed in my previous argument.

Medicare alone was over 3% of the GDP last year. 2007's GDP was over 13.5 trillion.
I don't give a fuck about medicare. Even though the system isn't perfect the elderly DO get covered and do have coverage.
I am concerned about poor-middle-working class families being raped to pay for your politics and have 0, none, nothing for health insurance.
Republicans treat the poor and middle class like work horses.

And god forbid that returning soldiers get their GI bill and can go to college. How fucking terrible is that?.
And once again the middle class gets stuck paying for your fucking GI bills because Mr. Republican drags his wars out longer then my cock.

Yes, Iraq seems to be the one of the only conservative platforms.. Even though it's a waste-of-time-and-money nightmare that "we should stop bitching about." But really, all John McCain is focusing on is the war.

The war is a great diversion to keep from having to deal with problems at home. It also helps him that the military can be used at will to help keep that attention diverted.

I can't stand to see other politicians and analysts bash this poor guy.

He's served for our country and put his life on the line for their freedom, and they can't realize that. He's been to war, he knows what it's like, so I trust his position on Iraq.

He's not the best candidate, but he sure is better than the opposition.

Actually the Democrats do. The lower-middle to upper classes will be taxed to support the additional programs the democrats want to instate. In increased tax rates of the upper class will reduce job opportunities of lower middle class.

For example, Obama enforces a new health care law or raises taxes for some other program (take your pick). Small business owners who hire your the most American "lower middle class" workers now can't afford to pay all their taxes. They now have two options. One is to fire one or two people and be able to keep their store/product alive. Another is to close up, and release ALL of their workers. Because of the raised taxes, the store owners have to lose workers, raising unemployment rates. The ironic thing about all this is that the people Obama will want to support get hurt even more because of the reduced job opportunities due to higher taxes. So in the end, all he's doing is hurting the country.

Same problem with raising minimum wage. The businesses can't afford to pay the higher wages, so they must either raise prices or fire people.

I've kinda stopped caring about US politics, but it's sad that most republicans have so hard to believe in left winged societies. My father pays about 60% of his pay in taxes. Yes, it's much, but we manage to survive pretty well. The taxes you pay comes back to you in one way or another.

Socialism..

Thank God!

You do know that socialism doesn't work? As soon as everyone gets the same amount of money, there is no point in working since no matter what happens you'll get paid the same amount. Since everyone would them have the same amount of money, inflation rises and the economy crashes. When the economy crashes, no businesses can stay in business, so they close up. Soon, no one does anything, the dollar is totally worthless, and EVERYTHING stops, production, social services, power, etc. So basically, socialism is the key to our destruction.

I've kinda stopped caring about US politics, but it's sad that most republicans have so hard to believe in left winged societies. My father pays about 60% of his pay in taxes. Yes, it's much, but we manage to survive pretty well. The taxes you pay comes back to you in one way or another.

Actually this is completely untrue. Are either of your parents on Medicare? If not, then you're not getting any money from it, which is covered in taxes. Are you in public school or are you in a school that is not in your school district? If not, once again your not getting anything from your taxes. Other things include War Veteran pay, Social Security, Government Salaries, Military Spending, Subsidies, and so on.

When you make your own money, you'll want to know where it goes when the government takes it from you.
