I sent in Request for Quotes on the NUON Polyface chip references I found but I noticed that one of the sources had reduced stock of at least 150. I am removing all links on this site to the sources except for this thread. I just want to watch what the interest is on these specific links here or interest in this.

Shows over 6K Stock on all referenced chips but then tries to get you to sign up and so far I have not a confirmation email.

This is the source that went down by 150 since my last check. This one looks like it has 200 Aries 3 chips in stock too :) Still have not received any email confirmation on this either.

Both of these links are probably in China. Whatever. I am going to get to the bottom of this and this thread is for that.

Big News on NUON Controller Development

Carl of Songbird Productions is teaming up with Lee Olivares (maker of the Yak Twister boards and holder (hoarder? Haha) of the polyface chips) to see if they can make some headway on a NUON controller option. This could be epic! Screenshot below from AtariAge. PS Nick Persijn also posted there...

I just submitted two more RFQs on NUON Polyface chips. The DVDSpares login passed through and so the last of the sources is being asked.

Jotrin is out at this point. This is DVDSpares now...

This thread is still opened but I am un-sticking it as none of the sites have any of these in stock they are just putting BS out there.

Did anyone find out anything new on this Polyface Chip in the NUON controller when we got the controller adaptors from songbird and others? I know there were significant resources put into figuring out how to emulate a NUON controller did anybody who was in on that see anything that could help us upload stuff through it? Right now we have to test all homebrew using an emulator or the DVD method - Dragonshadow said it might be possible to use that as a debug or test interface. Anybody up to this challenge? :)

    I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be

    Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that

    Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings

    And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that

    These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars

    Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality

    Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing

    I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.

    I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
