Looks better now. :)
Next time make the sunlight only at some regions and not over the whole map, all these rays were really evil. :p
The forrest is still too flat, put some larger hills in it.
IMO the statue doesn't fit to the flat building. It's like two times taller than the building which looks kinda weird.
And the arch in the 2nd pic is a bit displaced.
Besides that, really nice. Is it a playable map?

My mind is always a bit twisted late at night. xD

@ Jo_O: Your pics look much better now that you have gotten rid of those rays of sunshine and added in those arches. Add in a few more details and you have yourself a winner.

@ 2-P: It looks like a waterfall crossed with a bottomless pit. Were you hungry and/or thirsty at the time? And what is with the flowers? If you were going for weirdness, you have achieved it.

Then again, maybe you could say that it is the maelstrom... a bottomless pit COULD make a whirlpool that size in the ocean, and that would also explain the doomed ship. What do YOU think it it (if anything)?

It's like how in the old day, people were afraid to sail too much one way or the other. They thought the world was flat, so they'd sail off the edge of the world.

Ta da. The edge of the world :D

IMO, the edge of the world is a large tower in the middle of nowhere, like a secret NASA base :p, but I'm just mental.

Interesting, but why would there be dirt at the bottom (as in the second frame)?

You know, Jindo, I'm glad you added that last part. I might doubt your sanity otherwise... (waaaiiitt a minute...) ;)

Those weird pics got me thinking... we ought to set up a thread for the weirdest/funniest terrain/W3 pics we can make. If anybody who reads this agrees and wants to start one, message me or just go ahead and make it yourself (I would, but my threads always seem to flop :().

On another note, Alexander and Jindo, where on EARTH do you get those winky pictures? Do you make them yourselves or what?

IMO, the end of the world should have a restaurant.

On another note, I suck at terraining. You don't even WANT to see my terraining. Ever.

A huge tower like that is bound to have a resturaunt :p.

I wanna see how good 2-P is a terraining futuristic places, like labs and space shuttles :p.

Getting back to your terrain, 2-P, I think that you outdid yourself this time. I think that you have made a suitably creepy Hell entrance. Save this one for a contest.

@ Jindo: I disagree with your "shadow demon" suggestion. If you were a lost soul walking up that road, I think that the lack of any animate prescence would scare you more than a couple demons standing around looking useless.

@ Zero R.: I think you should try some terrain and then post it for us to give feedback. Then you could improve it and post again. Eventually you would be very good at it. Trite as it sounds, practice DOES make perfect. Isn't that right, 2-P? :)

@ Jindo again: I also want to see some futuristic stuff out of 2-P, but then again the world editor simply isn't made to handle that kind of thing. Perhaps 2-P could pull it off, but I certainly wouldn't want to try it.

Of course It's made for that kind of thing :), there are all sorts of futuristic tilesets, dodads etc which can be downloaded to WE :D.

General chit-chat
Help Users
  • No one is chatting at the moment.
  • Varine Varine:
How can you tell the difference between real traffic and indexing or AI generation bots?
  • The Helper The Helper:
The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
