From Jupiter and Square Enix and the team that created Kingdom Hearts comes a somewhat new (April 2008) and spectacularly unique Action-RPG to the once not so great Nintendo DS system.
The World Ends With You was originally released in Japan under the name "It's a Wonderful World". The World Ends With You is a very fast paced game where you use your stylus to unleash powerful abilities in various ways and all the while your parter is fighting on the top screen and you control them also.

My Review:::
Story - 10/10
The story for this game is a wonderful modern twist on RPGs. It takes place in Shibuya, a real area of Japan. Neku, the main character is a depressed and anti-social being who finds out that he has been forced into the Reaper's Game in an alternate dimension of Shibuya where he must survive 7 hard days to get his second chance in life. He realizes, as the story progresses that he doesn't have to have the social life of a rock and that ultimately: "The World Ends With You".
Gameplay - 10/10
The gameplay in this game is completely different than most games. After you beat this game, let's just say you have some "Stylus Skillz". You have the option of controlling both screens (both you and your partner) in a fight which I found to be very difficult but fun. The fighting in this game never gets old and you are rarely forced to fight unlike many RPGs. The bosses in this game are flawless, they all have a specific strategy and are for the most part very challenging. The battles in this game are superb.
Visuals / Environment - 9/10
The presentation of the game is very well done in yet another unique way. It is almost like a comic book. Each little section of Shibuya is well designed to echo the real life Shibuya. The comic book like dialog and visuals were great but when walking around I noticed the characters are pretty pixelated when closer. There isn't much room for complaints with this game.
Characters / NPCs - 8/10
The Characters in this game are all extremely unique in their own way and work very well into the story. Some characters have a little bit over-the-top personality and some of their sayings are overused and exaggerated, but hey it's a game. What do you expect. The enemies are pretty well made and are visually appealing. The names are very different. They are actually kind of humorous and refreshing instead of the 1000 different epic RPG monster names. The game's characters and NPC's are well done.
Overall - 37/40 [92.5/100]
This game overall is a fantastic game. If you even like the idea of gaming you should buy this. This is by far one of the best games I have ever played and if you ever are looking for a good portable game for car rides and such, I highly recommend this game.
