What is going to happen is that you are going to be able to pick a skin that you want. We are going to get to a point where we have different forum skins available so different people can view the site different ways. Coming in the future someday.

on our clan site we can change diffrent theme except if i or any other admin choosed overide member theme settings

Anyways, having multiple themes wouldn't be too great because this isn't set to one specific category, eg Warcraft. It would also require a lot of work (Most likely).

The current one is better than great, but having multiple themes, I guess, isn't bad as long as the admins agree to do it.

I have been looking into this, actually.
It's actually rather easy to change the color scheme.
Layout, though... that's a different matter.

That's why multiple themes would be better. More forums = more possible themes.

I'm highly against several themes.

1) Another work for admins, which really isn't needed, they do enough.

2) Might not be something major, but still it takes memory from the server.

3) Image, or text coloring that goes well in one theme, may seem horrible in another theme. Say I make a tutorial, and my headline is in brown, and someone has a brown theme, he will have a hard time reading my headline.

Not really.
Once it's done, it's pretty much done.

About 50kb per skin.

That's why the skins will be completely user-choosable.
If a theme doesn't work for you, change it.

Ok, say that I love a theme that is... Red. And you like... Green. Now you want to write some kind of article, you may want to use the color red, to do something. Now, to every user that is not using a red theme, that can be fine, but, I'm using the red theme, and I can't read what you were saying.

What am I supposed to do? Switch a theme every time a see a thread that I can't read?

Well, that could become an issue.
But I'm hoping it won't.

I asked w/e to give me some good color schemes.
Hopefully they will not be so radical as to warrant too much of that.


Anyway, I think that just having the option is pretty neat.

Yep, yep.

That can be done.
There are tons of options to customize this stuff.

What i ment was, a white text box wouldn't look good on some themes.

Hopefully, the text will have enough contrast with the post bg to make it easily readable. Unless, the person changes the font color. But if they change the font color, it will be the same color for all the other themes. But anyways, a lot of the colors have contrast with white, so their should be a problem. Unless the person uses bright colors. xP

I've seen people use yellow with the current setup, and I'm sure that others have, too.
Doesn't really work.

I will always use this theme. I come here to help people with Tech problems, and read the great news posted, not to see some overly fancy layout.

If it is this shade a darker shade or "golden rod" color, then it will be probably more noticable and easy to read. Yellow like this is hard to read and it hurts your eyes unless you have a computer screen that displays these as dark or something.
