Tips on Micro-ing

Hey guys, I really wanted to know how to improve micro-ing skills in a map.
I seem to be quite bad at it.
Anyone has any tips on mastering micro-ing? other than playing melee maps alot..

Just don't let a unit die.. and focus on area spells/heroes.

Play Micro wars, that might help with w/e microing is.
In that you just create an army from any unit in the game and battle

Microing- v. Action of controlling more than one unit at the same time.
Example: Windwalking with your Blademaster to attack the enemies archmage while healing units with a Shadow Hunter while placing a healing ward down with a witch doctor while running away damaged melee while focus firing your ranged units on the enemies Mountain King.

Playing melee maps only works semi well. Grouping several groups (ctrl + 0-9 for grouping, pressing 0-9 to recall groups) is how I usually do it. I'll have 1 group of my melee, including my melee hero, a 2nd group of ranged units (not including casters) including my 2nd hero, a 3rd group for casters (so I can' quickly find them and cast their abilities). Doing this also allows me to quickly attack and retreat, as well as quickly attack certain targets, heal, and place spells.

But yes, I agree, micro-ing is a horrible name for it
