Tower only attack creeps in my wave (TD)

hello there,

I am making a TD, and I want to make my towers to only attack creeps that spawned in my wave.

I have Nuke tower , which has 3000 range but I don't want it to attack other lanes.

(my nuke tower is based on Cluster Rocket spell)

Any ideas please? even if i have to remove the spell

Maybe make each player's wave owned by a different computer player that is enemy only to one human player each?

Depending on how complicated the lanes are you could check on attack if the creep is in the lane of the attacking player.
Something like:

JASS:
Event
 Unit is attacked
Condition
 Unittype of Attacking Unit == Nuke Tower
Action
 if ( UnitX & UnitY of Attacked Unit is in Lane[OwningPlayer(Nuke Tower)] ) == false
 then Order Attacking Unit to stop

Tried that, but the tower will keep trying to attack and it will keep stopping due to the trigger, in other word this is buggy

thanks though , any more suggestions ?

you can use custom value to help you, eg, if player red attacks enemy with custom value any than 1, it will stop attack and then use trigger to attack random enemy with custom value with 1 in the entire map, you have to trigger it a lot and manually.

Most td just reduce the attack range or enlarge the area between each player. to prevent kill steal.

the thing is my Nuke Tower is based on trigger to launch it missile (when tower attacks), using Stop attack will still launch the spell.

I guess I have to stick with "Enlarge the area between each player"

or as suggested above by Weep, make multiple AI players that spawn the waves and ally a few with those of nearby players.

Eg.

~P1 ~ P2 ~ P3
| 4 | | 5 | | 6 |
Player 2 is allied to player 4 and 6, which are computer waves.

That way the ranged towers dont attack those in other lanes.

You could set the unit to worker and create a region that matches your lane and just set it so the Nuke Tower attacks a random unit in that region every x seconds. But there are probably better ways I'm pretty bad at this stuff lol

Maybe you could add a check when the trigger triggers.
Something like:

JASS:
if (GetUnitX(target) and GetUnitY(target) in Lane(Tower))
attack
else
stop


Something like that.

I think whats meant above, is that in the launching spell trigger you add the condition. Instead of a separate trigger :?

That could work.

i would just place some lines of view-blockers,
he cannot attack what he cannot see ? ;)
but i m just bad with triggers and didnt test if this works
