Trigger help, involving pick every unit, and integer variables

Dur.

You have to set it to a pre-placed Mario unit.

Simply make a trigger for every Mario dude you have pre-placed for every player.

If you want the effect of "creating" the unit on the map, simply hide it at map initialization and in .1 seconds unhide it. That's what I did with my Platformer map. The Assassin is there all along, even in the ending. He's just hidden before the helicopter passes over for the start and he's hidden right when the helicopter reaches within 100 of him upon killing Fear.

I have a better idea considering mario is replaced every time he jumps, and when he lands.

Ill make a region follow him and when a unit enters the region BAM.

That's a good idea :)

When jumping, I wouldn't replace him. There isn't a point. Simply hide the real mario and instantly move him to the destination and do all of the unit creating and blah to make it look like a jump and finally trash the rest of the units.

You have to think about something here. If you don't place events on a trigger it can't run unless told to inside of a trigger WITH an event (or on a trigger that is run by a trigger with an event...the list goes on). If you choose to ignore the conditions (NOT THE ONES IN THE ACTIONS, mind you), you will also ignore the events, so as to make a trigger usable with the event and just used for its actions on the side (you don't need it, but one of the main keys to making a game restartable is simply running the initialization trigger ignoring the event of course because otherwise it'll confuse the computer.

Also what did you mean by that, i had a trigger run action.

If you choose to run a trigger, you can ignore the conditions/events if you want to. Just look around, it'll say.

If you CHECK the conditions, you'll CHECK the events.

If you IGNORE the conditions, you'll IGNORE the events.

I was giving an example.

Usually in the Initialization trigger you'll create units, move units, and do lots of junk to start a game. Well do a little fixing up and when you die you can have a simple dialog that asks you if you want to restart the game. When you restart the game, you simply restart the Initialization trigger, not to mention turning the triggers off and on as needed.

If you want a pure example, look at my Turret Shooter map (especially v2 because it has the mentioned lives setting). If you choose to restart, it reruns the Initialization trigger which asks you for the lives setting and what not. Everything is resetted because the turret doesn't die--it never has to.

I have lives and it works fine on the map, if you die you restart at level 1 with everytihng restored and i have no map initaliazation triggers because i hate those. And when you lose lives it asks you if you want to restart the game, i know wat im doing!!
