Probably not going to watch this, considering I tried to read the book first, got about 30 pages in and put it back on the bookshelf in the book store because I just couldn't take the boredom anymore o_O

I think it's written for teenage girls and not people that like things that have a point to existing.

What made the movie was the love story. The plot behind werewolves and vampires was hinted only 2, 3 times and for 10 seconds at the most. The friction between 2 vampire groups was icy cold, nothing sparked except for the very blurry scene of breaking a neck and the implied action of burning the body. Baseball scene... wtf? honestly, sticking to the book is good, but come the fuck on!... Give me some blood sucking action, not "im to scared to go all the way with you"...

The climax was nonexistent, the movie reminds me of Juno and Nick and Norah's infinite play list. The "flying", "gliding", crappy effects of just blurring was mostly due to the low budget, 37 million, the movie had - i hope. Rolling Stone magazine gave it 2.5 stars.

Bummer. The vampires have no fangs. The humans are humdrum.

In the end the love story is what made it a hit... and the countless "I love Edward Cullen" bumper stickers on facebook...

It's kind of boring when I read it. But, of course, anything beats Twilight.

Dracula was written in a different time. In those days, "horror" stories were created with suspense and creepy details you had to catch onto and figure things out for yourself. Also, the mere mention of Vampires, Undead and the "unspeakable" things the characters did to the bodies were considered horrible ideas.

People today are just radically desensitized.

Yeah, I know. I guess I should have lived back then.

haha, I shall probably watch it with one of my friends, in which I shall take a shot everytime something predetermined happens. Only problem is that I have no idea what to use for said game... =[

I actually liked the book Dracula, although I couldn't help myself but to see how distorted was the view of the real person who inspired that book. In fact, now that I think of it, it has almost no link to the Romanian leader, Vlad Ţepeş, who is the root of the Dracula tales o_O.

As for Twilight... I doubt I'll read the book or see the movie. I've had enough of them at schools... all the girls go like 'aah, that guy, he's so charming *faints*'...

I don't get it. The hype is so overrated.

Most of the characters did NOT look their parts. James did NOT look menacing enough to play the big bad guy. Most of the movie, there was almost no plot past "I think I love him, but why is he so mean to me?" It's one thing for a book to do this, but the movie, in my opinion, should have moved a bit faster.

Also, the outfits were terrible. They weren't... Right. I don't know how to explain it. I thought most of the characters were pretty shallow and uninteresting.

Both Rowling and Meyer, they’re speaking directly to young people. ... The real difference is that Jo Rowling is a terrific writer and Stephenie Meyer can’t write worth a darn. She’s not very good - Stephen King

...

QFT. Please don't dump hate and teen angst on me, every man is entitled to his own opinion, I know we're talking about the movie, which people - FANS of the book - said was utter crap, so really... yeah.

I respect Mr. King. He's a very talented writer of horror novels. Yes, maybe he is looking at it from a horror writer's point of view, but he's talking about the author's talent, not the utter fail of a genre Twilight turned out to be.

Srsly. If Dracula saw either the book or the movie, I'm willing to bet he's gonna drive a stake through his own heart.

I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
