What is the point to do this? ._.

if you're asking about my post, i honestly don't know what it looked like to you, because apparently a mod named revolver edited my post.

basically...i was trying to make sense of the code in the first post...normally i just quote the whole post and put it in my editor...but this thread:

http://www.thehelper.net/forums/showthread.php?t=136733

made me think that maybe i don't have to do that anymore.
i was wrong. i can post a screenshot of what happened...but suffice it to say that doing the [ l jass ] jass code here [ / l jass ] tags doesn't work the way i hoped it would...and if you do it for more than one line, it combines all the lines you put in there into one line. i don't see how that function is useful.

the thing is, that's all very off topic so i'll just download the map and look at the triggers in the editor...since i can't view them properly on the forums because the jass boxes in the forums don't adjust according to forum theme colors...i'm using grey and red forum colors instead of white and blue so that's why i can't read the jass boxes.

> i don't see how that function is useful

[noparse][ljass][/ljass][/noparse] tags are useful for showing something short without having a big box taking up more space...

I.E.

"I was working on my system and I encountered a bug on a function. It doesn't seem to want to work. This is what it looks like [ljass]function SomeFunctionWithAnErrorInThisLine takes nothing returns nothing[/ljass] What's wrong with it?"

Instead of

"I was working on my system and I encountered a bug on a function. It doesn't seem to want to work. This is what it looks like:

JASS:
funcion SomeFunctionWithAnErrorInThisLine takes nothing returns nothing

What's wrong with it?"

[noparse][ljass][/ljass][/noparse] tags are used to highlight only a single line of code. It's not meant for multiple lines...

that's my point. i don't see anything wrong with just typing...
funcion SomeFunctionWithAnErrorInThisLine takes nothing returns nothing

if you only want one line, why does it need to have tesh colors?
and the jass box is unreadable.
yes, i can say that [ljass is better than [jass because i can read it.
i can't read [jass.
i guess i'm not frustrated with the addition of the feature so much as with the jass boxes, since they are still not fixed...

Highlighter, and [ jass] don't work just for you

haha. i've tried going back to the forum standard colors and i just can't do it. the brightness of the computer screen just hurts my eyes too much. does the host of thehelper.net have a white computer desktop? i guess so. i'm at my parent's place and their desktop is grey. lol. mine is a picture of a forest.

the reason highlighting DOES NOT work on thehelper.net with unreal is that the highlighted parts ALL GET THE WHITE BACKGROUND! the intense white everywhere is the reason i don't use the white color scheme.

edit: i guess the best solution is to just forget about world editor and the forum display and just quote the post and put it in the notepad. at least notepad doesn't take forever to load up like world editor.
i just don't like that people use the jass boxes on perfectly readable forums and the jass boxes are unreadable.
it's an extreme nuisance. it makes it impossible to do the best thing when everyone uses the broken jass boxes.

GETTING BACK ON TOPIC...

it looks like this undying hero...(is his name dirge, btw?) is not an attempt at the recreation of the dota hero, but rather your own version of a zombie hero which shares some characteristics with it.

that's interesting. like, you have raise dead. how much hp do the zombies start off with? and that part that heals the hero is the part that remains of their hp, right? so if they get attacked that's like stealing his heal, right? hmm sounds like a cool spell to me.

I ordered like five blocks for 15 dollars. They're just little aluminum blocks with holes drilled into them
  • Varine Varine:
They are pretty much disposable. I have shitty nozzles though, and I don't think these were designed for how hot I've run them
  • Varine Varine:
I tried to extract it but the thing is pretty stuck. Idk what else I can use this for
  • Varine Varine:
I'll throw it into my scrap stuff box, I'm sure can be used for something
  • Varine Varine:
I have spare parts for like, everything BUT that block lol. Oh well, I'll print this shit next week I guess. Hopefully it fits
  • Varine Varine:
I see that, despite your insistence to the contrary, we are becoming a recipe website
  • Varine Varine:
    Which is unique I guess.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Actually I was just playing with having some kind of mention of the food forum and recipes on the main page to test and see if it would engage some of those people to post something. It is just weird to get so much traffic and no engagement
  • The Helper The Helper:
So what it really is me trying to implement some kind of better site navigation not change the whole theme of the site
  • Varine Varine:
How can you tell the difference between real traffic and indexing or AI generation bots?
  • The Helper The Helper:
The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air
