Unit Stats - "Priority"

Hey TH, I just had a quick question about "priority" in terms of units in WE. I never knew what this meant, and I was hoping if someone could enlighten me. When looking at the unit stats of a footman compared to a mortar team, the footman had a priority of 3 and the mortar of 5. What does this mean?

I think it's something for the AI to determine which units it should attack first in combat . I think that is not the field for the formation code that sets a unit's position in the formation .

"Defines at what point the unit/building/hero will be attacked when within a group of units/buildings/heroes being attacked. The values entered can range from 0 to 20, with 0 meaning that the unit/building/hero will be attacked last, and 20 meaning that it will be attacked first."

in my map, i use it for a different reason.
when you highlight two or more units, they're put into a specific order based on their priority, highest to lowest.

an example from my map:
tank - 10 (didn't know 20 was the max)
healers - 9
ranged - 8
support - 7
melee - 6
pets - 5
