USB problem

I am having trouble getting Windows 98 SE to auto-detect a minidisc player through any USB port. I have tried:

-going to windows update
-getting drivers offline
-downloading microsoft's USB fixes
-autodetect new hardware from control panel


It is doubtful it is a hardware problem. The mini disc player is made by Sony and their site had no drivers for it that I could find. I tried Windows control panel's auto hardware detection as well.

Not sure what the problem is, thx~
 
I haven't tested that yet, but can you offer any other advice?
 
in Device Manager, do you see a USB (Universal Serial Bus) Controller listed at all? If it does show up, are there any red Xs or yellow exclamation marks?

We got the problem fixed by checking the BIOS. Thanks for all your help. Tech geeks, despite all the crap they get in real life, are gods of computers and the internet. You guys rule!

    Yeah google does not filter those bots. I remember when Apex was doing Google ads I saw the same IPs in there as I was seeing here - google is totally tracking all those bots as traffic and most google traffic, at least ours, was all bots

    The first gate is stopping all the bots that don't execute javascript.

    That's the main thing with Anubis - no Javascript, no site. Typically you can still get the site to load without Javascript.
