WAMP stands for "Windows, Apache, MySql, PHP" and is a great tool for testing PHP and other server-side scripts without having to upload them to your server with every change.

I use this as well.
Can only recommend it for its user friendly setup and the fact that it comes with the latest Apache / MySQL / PHP releases.
