Not sure what the last level is... I got the cake in the second one but nothing happens. That is the last level? Because the block, yeah, it's not working. rofl.
But nice, I like this version. Llama.

Space Bar reverses your direction of vertical movement, so if you're jumping up, Space will send you back down. If you're falling, Space will send you up.

I intend to make this clearer later.

Second level should be working fine, and is working for me, not sure what's wrong for you. There is no block on level 2, only the final level.

Just a warning that my host recently migrated and so I'm assuming that my site is currently down due to some kind of aftermath, hopefully they'll sort it out soon!

Also this is just to say that a very illogical experiment fixed this calculation issue, and I must say that even looking at this code now, I can't explain why the points are still placing themselves flawlessly, AS3 is very strange and mysterious to me...

Either way, the "blocks" issue is now fixed as a result of this, as soon as my site is up and running again I'll have another preview!

EDIT: My site's back up.

My bad, I meant the fourth one. I'm like sure I reached the cake but then it just resets.

I like what you did with everything there. The graphics had the perfect platformer feel and the controls felt a bit more smooth (though maybe it was because there wasn't anything all-too-complicated to beat yet).

You may want to clear/remove the textboxes after walking over them, and have the text appear for a short amount of time, so that way, players can play around with the controls without having instructions constantly flash in front of them.

That's definitely a cool effect for it leaving, but some people might like it to stay there. I mean, these starting ones for like movement are obvious so they can be removed, but if you go later on into combinations or special keys, you might want to keep them there. Great as always.

A main feature that platformers usually share between each other is a pickup-and-play feature. The in-game directions should be short and simple, and should be unnoticeable only if the user decides to ignore it.

Not sure if you noticed, but many games are leaning towards this now, as compared to games made a decade ago.

I like what you did with it, it works very well.

Your game is coming along nicely, and the latest level added some nice creativity to it.

One last thing is really bugging me. The game utilizes the keyboard mostly, but to proceed to the next level, you require the mouse. Perhaps allow the user to hit space or enter to proceed to the next level, and add text below "Next Level" to let the user know they can do that?

I.e. -

Next Level
(press enter)

lol Sephiroth, you're just lazy to use the mouse, :p
Yeah, it's coming along very nicely.
Spikes look great. As great as spikes can be.
Winrar!

Current Updates:
  • Added timer in the corner.
  • Added fourth level.
  • You can now continue from the 'Next Level' thing by pressing any key.
  • 'M' toggles the music.

Some (Fairly Easy) Challenges:
  • Beat Levels 1-3 (+ collecting all coins) without using Space.
  • Collect all 83 coins in under a minute.
  • Finish the 4 levels without losing any lives.

Psh, I could do those challenges in my sleep. All coins under a minute, check. Collecting all coins without using space, um the third level, those 4 coins that are side by side of the spike, impossible without spacebar! Finishing all levels without dying, took me a few tries since the ending was so small I keep over walking, but check! lol i fail
:)
Fun. Glowing llama.

It's coming along very well, and I like the visual effects you added. As for difficulty, it is quite easy currently, but again, it is the initial levels of your game. I'm sure you will increase difficulty accordingly.

If you need any ideas for add-ons to later levels, let us (TH.net) know, I'm sure a bunch of the sprawling young minds here can help come up with things (I know I could).

How can you tell the difference between real traffic and indexing or AI generation bots?
  • The Helper The Helper:
The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
