BROCKTON - The suspect in the fatal shooting of a 15-year-old had been brandishing a gun at one another a few days before the firearm went off Tuesday during an incident involving a video game.

Asking for a video game, William Suarez, 18, pointed the gun at Olivier Baptiste and twice pulled the trigger before the weapon fired, shooting Baptiste in the head, according to court documents.

The boy died an hour later at a local hospital.

Suarez, of 317 Battles Farm Drive, pleaded not guilty to charges of manslaughter, illegal possession of a firearm, assault with a dangerous weapon, and discharging a firearm within 500 feet of a dwelling at his arraignment in Brockton District Court on Wednesday.

Another fine example of one (or maybe two!) retarded (or otherwise mentally impeded) kid(s) who happen to play videogames (almost like everyone else in the world) killing each other, and of course it is blamed on videogames.

The video game is not linked in the way the headline portrays it.

I think the real problem is that this boy was obviously quite disturbed (as in mentally) and there should have been more protection (ie not letting him own a gun)

Hey, America. How about some gun control? All your problems can't be blamed on videogames.

It could have been a friggin lolipop, the video game has nothing to do with it. Try "Teens with Guns Linked to Fatal Shooting", but I guess that's not sensational enough a headline is it? is Fox News calling yet, this could be your big break Ms. Papadopoulos!

Oh man. That's terrible. :(

But it can't be blamed on "video games". The shooter was obviously unstable, and how the heck did he get a gun in the first place?

It's like blaming the car dealership for somebody carjacking. Or the store for somebody stealing. It's not the things, it's the people. We need better gun control and less stupid people. :(

I just took the first three comments from the article.

the comments on that page all basically said about the misleading title and not the actual story
