W2K and Diablo II

I have a Dual 450c mb running windows 2k and all the lastest packs and DX8. I have a Geforce 256 32 meg card and SB live OEM sound card. I build computers for a living so I have all the lastest driver for everything. When I play Diablo 2 and ONLY in diablo 2 with EXP pack the sound cuts out more times then not. Are there any fixes for this other than getting a different sound card. I put both video and sound cards in a win98 box and I get 3D sound and no problems with it cutting out. Any help or know issuse with this setup.
 
hmm dunno if this is gonna help but disable the dos emulation for your soundcard . that has bin a known issue with d2 anyways .
 
Guess no one does much research nowadays. There is an affinity patch on the MS website (search Win2k and affinity) that can be run. When you run it, set the SBLive drivers to have affinity for one of the processors rather than the default of both. When you start the game, Alt-Tab out and go to Task Manager. The middle tab will allow you to right-click on a program (Game.exe) and set it's affinity (same proc as what sound drivers are set for). If you do this, the sound problems go away. (I had same prob and this does fix it. I'm also using Win2k with a dual-p3 system, geforce2mx, sblive.)

    this is the fix I get from that yeah this is hard to control. disabling bots is pretty much necessary as ai and other bots would push really old threads to the top. reduce weight of view count. disable guest view tracking if you really want to push active threads to the top. a bit of tinkering for a few days with the weights and other settings should get you a decent trending widget box.

    One thing I have noticed and I dont know if it is by design but like 1 out of 3 times I come to the site the Anubis screen just hangs open, if I refresh it will go away but sometimes it hangs

    Wow - the change in the stats are major. I kind of knew it was all bots but wow, to see the effect. Why the social media sites cant do something like this I have no idea.

    Probably inflates their numbers so they look better to advertisers.

    Yeah google does not filter those bots. I remember when Apex was doing Google ads I saw the same IPs in there as I was seeing here - google is totally tracking all those bots as traffic and most google traffic, at least ours, was all bots
