Okay I tried everything to get War3 running, but to no avail. I
couldn't even get it to start up (I got a fatal error before
anything came on the screen).

However, someone on these forums mentioned that "Nimo
codec" drivers can interfere with War3. I uninstalled them, and
war3 loaded up fine (I didn't even have to reboot!). Hope this
helps some of you.

If you are seeing FATAL ERROR messages when trying to play
Warcraft III please do the following:

Download and install the registry file from
ftp://ftp.blizzard.com/pub/war3/other/war3.reg
This will import registry settings for Warcraft III.
After importing these try the game.

I have seen several reports of people saying other codecs on their
machine are causing problems. If you have a codec package installed
such as Nimo please uninstall this as a troubleshooting step and
attempt to play the game.

Please let me know if either of these works for you.

OH my goodness you are a lifesaver. I just bought a brand new 2.26 Ghz pen 4 512 ddr nvidia ti4600 system and THE GAME DIDN'T WORK!!! Thank you so much.

What does the registry file do?Will it fix the fatal error message i get? I dont get the fatal error message until after the opening movie. Thanks alot if you read this post.

fatal error no more...

Well I tried everything from underclocking my RAM to installing new registry entries. Nothing worked till now when I decided "what the hey...un-install these Ace-Mega Codecs".
Guess what? It worked.

I have the problem, that a Fatal Error message occures in the middle of the game, when i play self-created maps. I checked all triggers, but it still does not work. Is it possible that wrong triggers lead to a fatal error?
(Sorry, my English is not that good)
 
Well, i have the same problem, except mine seems to be worse, becuase as soon as i get into my current level (single player, undead, level five, i get about a minute in and then all of a sudden it just shuts down with nothing). but when i tried to use that little file, it gives me that the "425 Can't open data connection". If someone could help me fix my problem, i would greatly appreciate it

Registration Code in Registry

I lost my original CD case and manual for Warcraft III (Reign of Chaos). I need to reinstall the game on my new computer. Can I find the registration code somewhere in the Windows registry?
 
hah, I so forgot this thread existed, this is seriously a classy fix to a bad problem!

Of course its mostly the user's fault for going and installing codec packs without having any clue whatsoever what a codec pack does or how codecs work.

"ummmmm, y my videoz no work nymore ???!?"

This are the spec of my pc

256 memory
ATi radeon 9250 AGP 256 memory
Sempron 2500+
40gb hard disk

What its probable cause of Fatal Error....

im playing warcraft dota map 6.32b

    It's actually remarkably easy to make mayonnaise though. Fun fact, it USED to kind of be a French mother sauce. I believe that Careme considered it one, it may have been aioli but that has also built a different meaning than it used to. I can only make about two quarts at a time with my robo coup, and if I have to make several in series because I forgot to order it becomes really obvious even when I do it. I do think I won though, I have to keep my fucking core staff and they have to be gainfully employed

She can do it no problem, I've worked with her there.
