A user posted on the Battle.net Support Forum that they fixed there softlock problem by turning down all video and sound options to the lowest settings

this may sound harsh, but until the patch comes out (unless it did
while i was away) turn all of ur graphic and sound options to the
LOWEST setting. The game looks a little sloppy and blurry, but at
least i can play. those of u with the hardlock problem (aka sound
loop crash) i dont think thisll help u, but it seems to b workin 4
me.
