Warcraft 3 battlenet problem

Hey, I just bought warcraft 3 yesterday and I have a problem. I'll say this, I've already downloaded the 1.2 patch, and the problem still pops up. I try to connect to battle.net and it says the following message:

"Unable to connect to Battle.net

You may be trying to connect to an invalid Battle.net server. If you are using a modem, you may need to manually connect to the internet before connecting to Battle.net."

I've tried setting my gateway to asia, eruope , uswest, and useast. I live in Us east so it SHOULD work.

The thing is, is i have cable modem. I've been desperately trying to play online and I'm unable to.. Please Help!!

I turned off my firewalls before i even patched the game just to make sure and it still occurs.
 
Nope, i have norton auto protect on and i have the zonealarm pro firewall turned off. If i try to exit the norton auto protect, it locks up the computer.. so i cant exit out of NAVAP. only thing i can think of is uninstalling norton. what do you think?
