Warcraft 3 Shortcut: How do one open it in custom window size?

Have you ever made a shortcut onto your desktop so that you have easy access to Warcraft 3?

Does anyone know how do you set it in windowed mode, and it retains the size 1024x768 resolution automatically?
I'm using a 1200x800 resolution monitor.

PS: I really don't know where to post this thread at. If you can tell me, I'll ask a moderator to move it to its correct place. Thanks in advance.

"D:\Warcraft III 2008\Frozen Throne.exe" -windowed

Right click the shortcut, write that as your path, as in, just add " -windowed".

I do believe it uses the same resolution as you already does...so, no problem there, as in if you usually use 1024x200, yes that will also be the resolution when you use window mode.

Have I ever not created a shortcut so it is not easy to access anything?...

But whatver I do, it retains the windowed mode in 1124x748.

I want to change it manually. Otherwise, it would look distorted. Would you like to see a flat peasant going through the flat trees and not knowing that flat enemy creeps had already killed it? Too flat to battle...Laugh all you want...!

I really do not see the problem here, you want to use the whole screen for the resolution, hide the windows bar and so on? Why use windowed mode then...

>1124x748
Does not exist, or, well...

Are we talking about the size of the window ? Or resolution of the game?

Could you show us a picture of your "problem"?

>>Laugh all you want...!
Scary how you could know that...

I want it windowed. Why? It runs smoother and has faster FPS. Good for speeding up my computer.

The size of how a windowed mode Warcraft 3 should be like once a person runs the shortcut. Not the resolution of the game, not the size of a full window, nor it isn't my monitor (1200x800).

Im not sure but try adding -res window(ed) or -type window(ed)

Or maybe it's Alt + Enter.

Edit: If you are playing from a Mac it's Command+M after running the game. :p

What are you trying to say? I don't use Mac at all.

And I don't want it to be full-sized. I want it to be windowed in 1024x768. That's all.

EDIT: I can't resize the windowed Warcraft 3 game.

I said I don't want Warcraft 3 to be in fullscreen, maximized, or resized to fit my 1200x800 monitor. I want it windowed, 1024x768 (The windowed game resolution), and that's it.

Look at the picture I posted above this post, and see why I need to do the windowed thing. If I don't the game is distorted, like a super tiny widescreen theater screen.

Still confused? I'll keep adding details later...

warcrafts mouse keeps you from resizing it so..

get you mouse over warcrafts icon on the taskbar, right click and choose the option "size", your cursor should look kinda like a compass rose. now start trying to drag!

Oh...

And no way of making it automatically set to 1024x768 in a 1200x800 monitor?

:(

Unless you change you monitor's 1200x800 resolution to a ratio of 1.66, I don't know a way to do it :-(

Warcraft supports these:
640:480=1.33
800:600=1.33
1024:768=1.66
1280:1024=1.25

Yours is 1200:800=1.5 which doesn't match with any of the ratios above. Maybe that's why.
But I don't understand why you can't resize the window manually, it works for me, no matter what resolution I set for my screen:

I don't know. How do you change the ratio to 1.66?

Eh, you can't. You have to choose a resolution which has a ratio of 1.66 (for the screen). That's waht I meant.
The screen's and Warcraft's resolutions have to be the same ratios to avoid that ugly stretching I guess.

Try going to Start - > Run

type in "regedit"

go to..

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Blizzard Entertainment\Warcraft III\Video

resheight and reswidth are what you want to change

Enter it as a decimal, not a hexadecimal.

That should work, its how I get my W3 to run at 1680x1050

Don't you have to go to the options in WC3 and change the video under options?
