WarCraft BNE and WIn2000

I got WCII BNE and I have a local fsgs (0.7.2.1) and from NT4.0 I can connect fine but from Win2000 I just get errors. I read somethign about deleting key under HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE and deleting bncache.dat but I still can't connect.

Anyone have any ideas or fixes?????

can you connect to regular battle.net ?

I can't try regular battle.net because we have a firewall here.

the newer patch for War2 changed the way the server lists work and its not as easy to connect to FSGS... there should be instructions on www.fsgs.com

are you running the same patch version under NT as Windows 2000?

No, under NT4.0 BNE connects fine, but under Win2K even with the most current patch (2.0.2) I have had no luck connecting.

I looked at fsgs.com and cannot find any reference to this change for the Server List in the registry. Please psot what you knwo about this.

try using Netgames Connect 4.2 from here (the one at the top): http://www.fsgs.com/fsgs/downloads.php

also get the latest FSGS server version from that same page

if that doesn't work, try reinstalling the game but don't apply the latest patch

I tried that with and without the latest pathc but Win2K still can't seem to connect.

can you telnet into the server?

run telnet.exe and connect to (server IP) on port 6112 (you will need to make sure you have the 'allow chat clients' checkbox [or whatever its called] checked in the FSGS server config options)
