Yup.
Whenever I play my custom map (features custom icons, and it only seems to happen when the items from said custom icons start showing up on the map, which isn't until about 20 minutes in or so) the game will shut down.

I'm also continuing to have this same problem with the editor; a complete stoppage, with no explanation why.

Your icons probably are corrupted.

This can happen by using unsupported compression when saving your icons.

b) What program should I use?

c) If it IS too late, how do I go about preventing this from happening again?

TGA with saved alpha channels?

TGA format and you have probably saved your icon with alpha channels, you can't have alpha channels in the icon or wc3 Will crash

b) Use GIMP, it's easy to avoid saving aplha channels

Graphical issues are usually causing Fatal Errors, not this.

You might have an infinite loop in your game, like this.

Any unit is ordered to a point

Order unit to move to a point

That will cause the trigger to keep on running and suddenly close.
Another one.

Item is manipulated

Make unit drop item
Make unit pick item

And ALOT more that have loops.

Okay, the Dropping and Picking Up thing is DEFINITELY in my game. I can post that trigger when I get home. As for the TGA with Alpha Channels, to be honest, I'm not even sure what that'd look like :\ I'm pretty sure I have them saved as TGA's, though....

I'll post my used item recipe system when I get home from werkie this evening.

This might not have anything to do with your problem, but you asked for anything else and this is something =/

I had a similar thing happen to me. I'd start my map, and then after some time it would instantly freeze, no errors or anything. My problem was that for some reason the Test Map button started up a weird version on TFT. I played it starting up TFT normally, and it worked, then I played it using NewGen's quickstart and it failed. Try opening TFT then playing your map.

GRAPHICAL ERRORS GIVE OUT ERRORS for christ's sake.

This was obviously an infinite loop caused by an event and an action causing the event which causes the action to run the event which causes an action to run the event and so on.

Upload the map so we can check if it's an infinite loop or if icon importng went wrong
I had that problem a while ago with TGA with sved alpha channels, Fatal Error and Wc3 shuts down..

Sorry, gents, had some computer troubles and went away a few days.. had to reformat. The backed up file of the map in question WILL be posted as soon as possible.
And Lammet, that's the precise tutorial I was using to post my icons.
