.wav's causing crashes

my starcraft keeps crashing because of some .wav files or something. whenever it crashes it says either protoss/terran/zerg then a 1,2 or 3.wav and i dunno what that means please help me

Would need the following info to help you out.

1. What sound card do you have and what driver version are you using. You can get the sound card information by running Belac advisor, which you can get from this site:

Run Dxdiag (start - Run - type in dxdiag and hit ok)

Under the sound tab, look and copy down the driver info.

2. Next look at your IRQ's and list all items which share the same IRQ with your sound card. You can find this information by doing the following:

right click on my computer.
select properties.
select rhe device manager tab.
With my computer highlighted (that should be the default) select properties.

and if that dont work, change the slot your sound card is in and make sure irq's arent shared with the sound card

hey that's what i was going to ask, how do you change the IRQ setting under windows98 SE?

Some Bios's allow you to assign a PCI slot to a specific IRQ. If your BIOS does not support this then...

Moving the sound card to a different PCI slot will ofen get you a new IRQ. Just ALWAYS remember that you must leave the PCI slot that is immediately under the AGP slot open. that slot always shares the same IRQ assigned to the Video card.
