WC3 cable modem gets disced all the time and have to press alt+tab just to get on b.n

ok first off the game is WC3 when i go to get on b.net i have to press alt+tab to lower the game than go back to it just to get on b.net..... second ill be in game and all of a sudden ill lose my connection and i use a cable modem and at no time will the modem lose its connection so my modem isnt crashing and i dont lag cause iam usually the first person done loading the map i was wondering if anyone has this problem or knows what causes this problem

i run off of windows xp home
amd athlon 1.33ghz

well i hate to say it, but you are going to have to reformat your HD. if you look at the other post "slow down after virus" you will see i had the same problems. i mean excact same (with the disconnects and all and i got a cable modem too) . i didnt find a cure for it, so i just went ahead and reformated my whole hard drive. now war3 (as well as other programs) are running back up to speed.

Just wondering but can you turn on your firewall under the XP setting? it wouldnt let me modify my firewall settings when i was messing around trying to fix my problem.

btw i have never had a virus in my comp before so that has nothin to do with it

well i did a scan on my computer and it said i didnt ahve a virus on my computer either. so i am not sure waht it is. Do other programs open slower too? such as opening winamp or pictures takes longer?

You could always try to defragment which other people will suggest, but i doubt that will do anything. My guess is that some file got corrupted and you have to replace it such as what i was talking about at the top of my other post. The only thing is that i dont know how it got messed up, or what file it is, so it is like shooting in the dark. It would be nice if you could compare the file size of all the critcal files on your computer to ones of a fresh install. i wouldnt know how to do this though. If only one of the helper people could think of soemthing.
