WC3 freeze @ Main Menu!! Help plz

Ahooi, plz help if you can.

The problem is that WC3 keeps Freezing at the Main Menu screen after to intro and then I have to reset the machine. I've patched it with v1.03. Please have a look at my system specs and help me if possible.

My system is:

Gigabyte GA-8SG667 motherboard
Intel P4 2.4ghz, 533 bus
DDR333 Ram
Western Digital WD1200JB harddrive
Gigabyte Maya II Radeon 9700 Pro display card
Creative Audigy Sound Card
A-Open 16x DVD drive
Running Windows XP with newest drivers etc.

I have the same problem with my Radeon 9700, but its when i start a game

Solved the problem.

Just run the game with -opengl added to the target line of the shortcut!

Enjoying the game now!

Great!

Some people have said they have problems reading the text in opengl mode, especially with ATI cards. Is that an issue?

No Problem @ all

Nope everything is sweet this side now. I can read all the text fine. OpenGL has always been the best way to go.

Also deselecting the Application Preference [SmoothVision II on 9700 Pro] and setting the X slider manually is a clever thing to do as some applications does not handle that themselves (like Counter Strike is seems). It also gives better mouse movement & aiming with such games, not to mention the amazing graphics.

Only problem I have now is that CS resets my pc sometimes. No idea why and it does not happen with any other game or program...
