wc3 Problems with Spells, Auras I cant see them

I cant see Auras, Spells when casted, fountains and things like that. I have updated my Drivers and I am running Windows XP, I know this isnt a horrible problem but it would be nice to see these things when I am playing it makes things a lot nicer, O yeah I cant see wisps either. People say I need to configure something I dont know what they are talking about so I am gonna leave it up to you guys. Thankyou so much for reading this and I hope you find out the problem.

Yea, I have the exact same card, and im wondering why it does that... I found out that SOMETIMES if you move your screen to another part of the map, some of the things reappear... although if you move away they will dissappear again. I sure hope someone resolves this problem soon, im getting a headache from having to deal with this problem, and I really wanna play WC3.

Hey Ya know what?
After reading a few threads, I managed to find a solution to the problem All you have to do, is create a shortcut to the warcraft .exe, then in the target box, add

-opengl

to the end of the line. With a space between the line and -opengl. It should look something like this:

"C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Warcraft III.exe" -opengl

It should make everything appear... however, I found that the animated portraits of the units when you select them might appear a bit tainted (red or green or maybe blue) but it doesn't really affect much else. I don't think that is a problem worth losing braincells over, so I guess this should solve the video problem! Go spread the word

So I make a shortcut to wc3 and change name to

C:\Program Files\Warcraft III\Warcraft III.exe" -opengl

and place in it Program Files, wc3?

You don't have to place it anywhere specifically.
The thing is, you'll be running warcraft by double-clicking the shortcut instead of the exe, thats all. What the -opengl part really does is that it tells the program to run in opengl rather than direct 3d.

Put the shortcut anywhere you feel cumfortable with it.
