My WC3 has been working perfectly until yesterday. When I got to the main menu screen, most (but not all) of the 3d graphics on the background are all screwed up - for example, terrain showing the wrong colours, the WC3 logo has vertical lines striking through, the floating clouds were drawn in white horizontal lines with gaps in-between. In the actual game-playing screen, the terrain graphics were screwed up as well, and some units were even transparent!
I tried reinstalling the game several times, updated my video
driver, my system BIOS, made sure I have DirectX 8.1, and it's still not working.
Since I have reinstalled the game several times, I'm GUESSING that it is not my WC3 that's causing the problems. However I don't recall installing any other program in the last couple of days that could somehow screw up WC3's 3d graphics. I ran DX Diagnose and I passed all the graphics test. I also tested the video by running other games, such as America's Army and The Sum of All Fears, and they both ran perfectly.
However, when I ran the official video tester from Blizzard, I got a screwed up footman looking just like the problem mentioned earlier about the 3d graphics in the game-playing screen --
wrong colour, transparent horizontal lines striking through the
unit's graphics ....
So, anyone have any idea what's going on with my computer and how can I fix it?
My system's spec:
Dell Inspiron 8100 BIOS A12
Intel Pentium III 1.2Ghz
Nvidia GeForce GO driver v17.60
Windows XP professional
DirectX v8.1
Thanks
