I have recently been learning HTML but i still don't know how to get webspace. I have some questions about it. Is there any place to get free webspace but so the website is mine and not like .websites or something? how much does webspace cost? is it monthly?
You're looking for some kind of web hosting service. Any decent host will cost money per month, but there are free ones out there. Most of those will be pretty low quality and usually require you to have ads on your site. If you want, drop me a PM and I might be able to find some space somewhere.
this - this would be the domain name, and then for the hosting you can find various free sites, but they will usually have limitations on bandwidth/emails/etc. unless you start paying - also keep your hosting and domain name seperate (I.E. from different companies), or you can set up your own server for hosting (original xbox's hacked with linux work well for this purpose)
this can be done from the domain name end, in my goDaddy account, I can just have it secretly redirect to whatever site I want (with no hosting paid on goDaddy), I would assume others are the same
You can URL mask your free web space to your domain, but you won't get the ability to have example.com/directory/file, you would just have example.com on all pages.
The best I've found so far. I use it for all my webhosting needs. FTP Client, MySQL support, and you get unlimited data/up to 25 domains for less than $10 a year.
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
