hey guys...

easy question, hard answer.

What could cause even the easiest trigger to stop working anymore?

the fact is this :
i made an working revival system which was about 10 lines long...so nothing special...after a while it stopped working without any changes on the trigger. and the same thing with a much more complicated arena system...it just stopped working and even after 100 times af changing its not working.

thanks in advance

Corrupted? Try exporting the trigger to another new empty map, if it works, then be prepared to accept the fact that your map is corrupted. Of course, here on, a backup is always appreciated.

Post that short revival trigger, maybe something DID change, without your knowledge?

you can see the trigger here ....its jnZ's version...exactly. and one time it revived the hero and every test afterwards it didnt.

> but the only not working triggers are these 2....can that be?

Then this obviously means you did something wrong.
Nothing much can be helped here I guess, unless details are well described. :)

As mentioned, posting your own trigger might be helpful. Referring to another's work won't help much.

Indeed, the trigger of jnZ is fine, but you probably just made a very little mistake that you didn't notice or something. Just post your own trigger

Trigger:
  • revival
    • Events
      • Unit - A unit Dies
    • Conditions
      • ((Triggering unit) is A Hero) Equal to (==) True
    • Actions
      • Multiple FunctionsIf (All Conditions are True) then do (Then Actions) else do (Else Actions)
        • 'IF'-Conditions
          • (Player number of (Owner of (Triggering unit))) Less than/Equal to (<=) 6
        • 'THEN'-Actions
          • Set RevivePointHeaven = (Center of revive heaven <gen>)
          • Hero - Instantly revive (Triggering unit) at RevivePointHeaven, Show revival graphics
          • Camera - Pan camera for (Owner of (Triggering unit)) to RevivePointHeaven over 0.00 seconds
          • Custom script: call RemoveLocation(udg_RevivePointHeaven)
        • 'ELSE'-Aktionen
          • Set RevivePointHell = (Center of revive hell <gen>)
          • Hero - Instantly revive (Triggering unit) at RevivePointHell, Show revival graphics
          • Camera - Pan camera for (Owner of (Triggering unit)) to RevivePointHell over 0.00 seconds
          • Custom script: call RemoveLocation(udg_RevivePointHell)

Trigger seems fine. Are you sure you enabled the trigger, and it is initially on?

Hmm very strange..

And what if you make a new trigger, exactly the same, but NOT copy? (I don't know why this would help, but it could...)

Or did you remove the unit in another trigger or something?

Is the hero icon (upper-left corner of screen) still on shown when the hero dies?

well there isn't anything wrong with the trigger, thats a fact. i guess the only other possibility is that you made some changes to the unit that prevent it from reviving

the trigger doesnt work....and no i didnt changed anything that prevents the reviving but now im using the normal hero revival.

Easy way to test:
Disable all other trigger besides the one you posted.
Test the map.
Kill a random hero.
See if it gets revived.
If it does, one of your trigger is messing with your revive trigger.
If it still doesn't work, then it should be your Object Editor problem. Something that you've set that prevent the revival. The condition states that the dying unit must be a hero. You might have added additional classification. You'd have to troubleshoot yourself.

So it wasn't a trigger error? Good to know you found the problem :)

How can you tell the difference between real traffic and indexing or AI generation bots?
  • The Helper The Helper:
The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.

I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
