what is battlefield 1942 solution???

i have been looking for the solution to the restarting of windows or just abrupt quit of battlefield 1942.

but after reading the posts, i don't understand what to do.

can someone please clearly explain what setting could be changed to help the problem?

or

what software programs need to be downloaded an installed.
then explain all of the steps of what to do with the program to allow the game to work.

i am running an AMD XP 2000+, ATI Radeon 9000 with 128mb memory, 512mb system memory, windows 2000, internal sound.

please help!
 
it is an ECS Elitegroup Mainboard motherboard. it is the SiS 735 chipset.

Well I don't know really what is your problem but I see your video card is not fast. So try put all resolution lower and details too.

Also think maybe change OS (Operation System) cause XP is "better" (for Microsoft product) than 2000.

For your information here my system:

CPU: Pentium 4, 3.0 GHz
RAM: 1GHz DDR
Video Card: Ati Radeon 9500 Pro, 128 MB RAM

And for me I have any problem to install/play Battlefield or other games for now.

I had the same problem and ended up getting it looked at. Turns out my power supply was underpowered and also my vid card drivers were old so try getting those looked at. i dont have the problem anymore
 
i don't wanna go into a winxp vs win2k debate but both have their pro's and cons ..

personally i preffer win2k coz when i want a process tobe shutdown it will shutdown.. not unlike winxp where i have to click a dozens of times to kill the process

MrKamikaze is right about the vidcard.. rather low/slow ... setting it to low visual details should do the trick

    this is the fix I get from that yeah this is hard to control. disabling bots is pretty much necessary as ai and other bots would push really old threads to the top. reduce weight of view count. disable guest view tracking if you really want to push active threads to the top. a bit of tinkering for a few days with the weights and other settings should get you a decent trending widget box.
