Will this effect work?

Hello guys,

- I created an effect called 'bomb' and gave it 100.000 damage
- I went to the 'search' of the effect and set the radius to 3
- I set the fraction to 0.01

What I want is that when a 'bomb' applies to an enemy unit, it must kill the unit and deals 1000 area damage (0.01 of 100.000 is 1000 am I right?)

Will this effect work now when an enemy unit takes a bomb of a marauder?


(every shot a marauder fire has 5% chance to explode which result into a bomb)

The effect sounds right. It is just a question of whether you are applying your bomb effect correctly as to whether it will work.

alright, I changed my mind, the bomb must deal just 5000 damage with 1000 splash

so I gave the effect 4000 damage with a splash fraction 0.25, this works!


(because the 1000 splash damage also damages the target it's a total of 5000 damage)

Great :)
A side note; If you dont want the target to take the splash damage, you can add the target to the exclude field.

So you change the damage to 5000 and splash fraction to 0.2 :) This way the tooltips will always show the correct damage.

yes, but for some reason the unit is taking 6000 damage now, but the splash damage is fine



edit: fixed it! ofcourse I have to set the target filter exclude 'target'


(I thought that units wouldn't be able anymore to attack the unit when apply this)
