Flowers I see
Walls of concrete
Streets and the young
Light of a setting sun
Blisters my feet
When the greatness of life takes me
Smiling, I marvel
Amazed, I pray
Godlike is life
Purposeful dive
Into butterfly day
Although all we are yet is larval
Beauty touches and
Touches my eyes
And the drips drop and please
And form wondrous seas
That reflect all the skies
And you haven’t yet seen the sand.
I pluck as I sow
Love like the rain
Both us and the Sane,
Both wise and inane,
Yes, all children under the rainbow!

A piece I wrote two years ago in german language. After not translating anything in a while a friend of mine told me to write something positive. I told him I had and started to translate this poem. It turned out to be quite fine, yet very different from the original so I thought I'd share it with you guys.
A few words: I would've liked to add "Behind" as the first word in line two. The drips could be exchanged with tears, but I liked the sound of drip drop. The last verse has only 5 lines, three of them using the same ending. I'm not sure the two Both lines are enough to express what the last line leads into, but it makes three. Rainbow doesn't come nicely thanks to the use of rain three times in a row. If you have any suggestions, go ahead.
