wrong version, update...HOW????

I just bought the game, and a sony vio, the game plays great but.....when I try to join online games and when it starts to load I get "Wrong version, would you like to update? It doesn't matter what I answer, it stays in the same vicious cycle......HELP

Most likely a corrupt install of the game. Try reinstalling and see if that works. If it doesn't, then get the stand alone patch at the official Battlefeild 1942 site.

Yeah I was getting that same error, wrong version "Would you like to update?" i am gunna try to see dling patch helps.

Even after I dl the update it says somebody about wrong version ... like wtf?

There are more then 1 update. There are 2 or 3 you need.

:cool: I have been trying to play bf1942 online for a couple months now but have given up. I've dled 6.1 and 6.1b, when I try to connect I still get a wrong version message. What can I do to can I finally get to play?

Ok to be able to play BF1942 multiplayer online you need to go to
http://www.eagames.com/official/bat...sp?state=010010
and download the 1.6 full and the 1.61b incremental patches.
Install BF1942.
Install the 1.6.19 patch (which is the 1.6 at around 274mb)
Then install the 1.61b patch. (around 6.4mb)
That "should" be all you need to play MultiPlayer.
After updating you need to tell your firewall to allow BF to go online.

When you browse for games are they greyed out on the server list?
Are you trying to connect to a mod server such as Desert Combat?
If so the DC updates are here http://www.desertcombat.com/?page=downloads and download the Desert Combat .7 full install (591mb).
Another good mod is DC Final, and the patch for final can be found anywhere like www.fileplanet.com .

The reason I put these mods here is just that alot of servers are running them.
You might try to install any mod of your choice just to see if the connection problems continue with that aswell.

If you still cant get it to work just PM or IM me and I'll see what I can do for you.

    The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats

    I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.

    I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
