Someday, digital citizens around the world may have a Yale professor to thank for the supercool, extra-durable case protecting their smartphones.

Jan Schroers, who teaches mechanical engineering and materials science, has created a thin, lightweight smartphone case that is harder than steel and as easy to shape as plastic. Schroers developed the technology for the cases in his Yale lab; now he’s ready for a partner to bring the product into mass production.

“This material is 50 times harder than plastic, nearly 10 times harder than aluminum and almost three times the hardness of steel,” Schroers said. “It’s awesome.”

For years, academic and commercial institutions have sought an effective technique for shaping these bulk metallic glasses (BMGs) — a new generation of strong-yet-pliable materials. Electronics casings, in particular, have been identified as a desirable application. Yet past attempts at finding a shaping process were unsuccessful.

If your country would have been able to research against human rights/law, your country would've been at least as advanced as Germany. Not only that, but in those days you were drilled to be self-sacrificial ( Werner Otto Theodor Forßmann was self sacrificial enough to lay a channel into his own heart. He is the one that made it possible for you fat fucks to survive a cardiac arrest, for example ). Do you know why there was so much hatred? The Germans were conditioned to fear. And what is the natural reaction to fear? Either submissiveness or some sort of aggressiveness; the latter was propagated.
You shouldn't waste your remaining brain for complicated issues, as you don't seem to get the gist of anything. Even FireCat knows better than you.

And just what makes you think Nazi Germany was a fun place to be? Did someone shit in your brain?

That boy does not understand the internet. Nor does he know very much about what he's talking about which makes it that much funnier.

Does it matter? I'm not the one lecturing about why Nazi Germany was so fucking awesome.

I was just waiting for you to comment on this, oh this was glorious.

I'd do it again anytime, I just have to look for really stupid comments. Totally worth my time and energy. I'm Batman.

Does it matter? I'm not the one lecturing about why Nazi Germany was so fucking awesome.

No it doesn't matter at all, because you comment like a politician; you talk a lot, but at the end of the day, it's all unsubstantial and meaningless.

You really have to learn how this entire trolling business works.
What do you mean?
Is this, like, your first day or something?
No, I've been evaluating and degrading you over quite some time now. No need to ask stupid questions when you already know the answer. Though, I'll remember it for you, just for the reference.

I'll write it down as: "Varine - unoriginal as fuck; probably stole his jokes from 12-15 y/o kids. Quite possibly thinks the internet is centered in 9gag. Likely to be a old man, due to his declining ability to remember". Is that OK for you or should I add in something else?
Maybe you should rename your name to
"Troll" :)
No, because trolling is about playing pranks on people, the more obvious the prank is and the less aware the person he's playing the pranks on is, the better troll he is. But he is doing neither of that, hes just being annoying and provocative. Taking his piss and then returning that favor twofold is what I do ever since it's become dull trying to put up with most of your shit :) You've matured, in all honesty. The two as well, but they've become senile.

So what it really is me trying to implement some kind of better site navigation not change the whole theme of the site
  • Varine Varine:
How can you tell the difference between real traffic and indexing or AI generation bots?
  • The Helper The Helper:
The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air

I bitch about Xenforo sometimes but it really is full featured you just have to really know what you are doing to get the most out of it.
  • The Helper The Helper:
It is just not easy to fix styles and customize but it definitely can be done
  • The Helper The Helper:
I do know this - xenforo dropped the ball by not keeping the vbulletin reputation comments as a feature. The loss of the Reputation comments data when we switched to Xenforo really was the death knell for the site when it came to all the users that left. I know I missed it so much and I got way less interested in the site when that feature was gone and I run the site.
