Old rock.

Bo Jovi, Led Zepplin, AC/DC, Aerosmith, ZZ Top, Kiss, U2, Guns and Roses

I also dig Pearl Jam and Nirvana.

all of this modern 'music' (using the term loosely) is pure crap, to me.

Modern Rock ftw : ) Sry Pineapple :p

I love Rock. The newer kind of rock/alternative is my music. I love it.

Bands such as:

- Three Days Grace
- Disturbed
- System of a Down
- Avenged Sevenfold
- Breaking Benjamin
- Trapt
- Seether
- Puddle of Mudd
- Rise Against
- Godsmack
- The Offspring
- Velvet Revolver
ect... I could go all day.

I like some Techno too :p It's always fun.

I despise country and rap. Put em together and it equals crap. I rest my case.

I'll always listen to anything ONCE and try to keep an open mind about it.
These are some things I hate when listening to new songs/bands:
-SCREAMING AHHHHHHh (annoying, makes me want to scream back SHUT UP!)
-Harsh electric instrument feedback (hurts my ears)
-Using only I IV[iv] V7 chords (boring!)
-Bland melodies with a range of about 2 notes (boring!!! :banghead:)
-Instruments or vocals off-key (eww!)

Classical music is the best genre in my opinion (CHOPIN FTW!).
I'm a concert pianist and I have perfect pitch (doesn't mean I know anything but maybe accounts for something) and I take pride in making my own music.

The new generation of musicians, if you can even call them musicians, don't know what real music is...
All you rappers out there, you just plain suck. Lol, Sorry! I've never heard a decent rap song... Anyone can sit at a computer and arrange fake instruments, or press buttons on a mixer, but how many people can sit down at a piano or another instrument and play something worth your time? :)

I prefer Classic Rock, or some um... non-emo rock, or not too heavy rock. I like to listen to the different instruments and try to single them out :D

SOME rap songs are alright... the ones that aren't all about bizznits and those.

Definatly older rock and the like.
The Clash, Heart, ZZ Top, Metallica, Megadeth, Iron Maiden, The Sex Pistols, etc.

I also like some modern metal. Rammstein and Velvet Revolver being the sole bands in that category.

I keep an open mind though, and can like anything if it appeals to me at the time.
Some exceptions to this rule is pop (from any era), and rap (very specific songs I can deal with). And so-called "Happy Hardcore" *shudders* which is the same repetetive beat over and over and over and over and over and over and over again.

Older rock owns, but Grunge (eg: Nirvana) and Hard Rock (eg: Queens of the Stone Age) are also awesome.

Jazz.

Though I also sometimes listen to pop-rap if I'm in the mood for it.

Are you talking to me?

Well, so you know, labels and genres are different things. Labels are what people classify music as. I hate labels.

Genres are classified music as well, but it is official. In all cases I know of.

Now there is my kind of music. I do prefer to listen to Jazz and Funk, but to be honest, I'll listen to anything that sparks my interest (Jamiorquai is on right now).

Medeski Martin and Wood, John Scofield, Listen, and The Youngblood Brass Band are a few bands/groups I enjoy. But I also appreciate listening to older Jazz artists like Freddy Hubbard, John Coltrane/Thelonious Monk, Herbie Hancock, Benny Carter, etc.. A bit of the newer stuff I also like: Michael Brecker, Mel Martin, Joshua Redman.

As you might be able to tell, I'm a saxophone player... but I also sing. So occasionally I like listening to Sara Vaughan (I have the entire Verve CD set), C-Sus/The Jazz Singers, The New Real Group, and such.

Classical music is also pretty high on my favorites, especially Holst's The Planets suite. We just played Mars in my school band and now I'm obsessed with Jupiter. Eric Whitacre's music really piques my interest because of his usage of closely-knit chords; we recently played October at school, and I really enjoyed that a lot too.

I ordered like five blocks for 15 dollars. They're just little aluminum blocks with holes drilled into them
  • Varine Varine:
They are pretty much disposable. I have shitty nozzles though, and I don't think these were designed for how hot I've run them
  • Varine Varine:
I tried to extract it but the thing is pretty stuck. Idk what else I can use this for
  • Varine Varine:
I'll throw it into my scrap stuff box, I'm sure can be used for something
  • Varine Varine:
I have spare parts for like, everything BUT that block lol. Oh well, I'll print this shit next week I guess. Hopefully it fits
  • Varine Varine:
I see that, despite your insistence to the contrary, we are becoming a recipe website
  • Varine Varine:
    Which is unique I guess.
  • The Helper The Helper:
Actually I was just playing with having some kind of mention of the food forum and recipes on the main page to test and see if it would engage some of those people to post something. It is just weird to get so much traffic and no engagement
  • The Helper The Helper:
So what it really is me trying to implement some kind of better site navigation not change the whole theme of the site
  • Varine Varine:
How can you tell the difference between real traffic and indexing or AI generation bots?
  • The Helper The Helper:
The bots will show up as users online in the forum software but they do not show up in my stats tracking. I am sure there are bots in the stats but the way alot of the bots treat the site do not show up on the stats
  • Varine Varine:
I want to build a filtration system for my 3d printer, and that shit is so much more complicated than I thought it would be
  • Varine Varine:
Apparently ABS emits styrene particulates which can be like .2 micrometers, which idk if the VOC detectors I have can even catch that
  • Varine Varine:
Anyway I need to get some of those sensors and two air pressure sensors installed before an after the filters, which I need to figure out how to calculate the necessary pressure for and I have yet to find anything that tells me how to actually do that, just the cfm ratings
  • Varine Varine:
And then I have to set up an arduino board to read those sensors, which I also don't know very much about but I have a whole bunch of crash course things for that
  • Varine Varine:
These sensors are also a lot more than I thought they would be. Like 5 to 10 each, idk why but I assumed they would be like 2 dollars
  • Varine Varine:
Another issue I'm learning is that a lot of the air quality sensors don't work at very high ambient temperatures. I'm planning on heating this enclosure to like 60C or so, and that's the upper limit of their functionality
  • Varine Varine:
Although I don't know if I need to actually actively heat it or just let the plate and hotend bring the ambient temp to whatever it will, but even then I need to figure out an exfiltration for hot air. I think I kind of know what to do but it's still fucking confusing
  • The Helper The Helper:
Maybe you could find some of that information from AC tech - like how they detect freon and such
  • Varine Varine:
That's mostly what I've been looking at
  • Varine Varine:
I don't think I'm dealing with quite the same pressures though, at the very least its a significantly smaller system. For the time being I'm just going to put together a quick scrubby box though and hope it works good enough to not make my house toxic
  • Varine Varine:
I mean I don't use this enough to pose any significant danger I don't think, but I would still rather not be throwing styrene all over the air
